- Crafting and implementing Product Lead Growth strategies, directly aligned with the business strategy. The goal-oriented plans are closely monitored and continuously optimized to accommodate for shifts in competitive, business, and technology environments. 
- Created and grew the internal creative agency responsible for all content production, digital marketing, lead generation, and campaign execution. Overseeing all creative output, copy and script writing, and resource optimization. I further manage all external agencies for specialized design and overflow work. 
- Delivered brand architecture, including messaging, assets, and usage guidelines for two corporate brands and eight product brands.

- Managed the development and implementation of Siren’s new brand and associated communication materials for internal and external usage
- Created and executed a new web strategy for Siren’s main site and a partner site. The strategy formed part of Siren’s overall brand evolution and included additional sections for SEO, content marketing and social media
- Established a trusted digital influencer network that grew the organization’s product mix. The network included a highly curated group of Canadian and US influencers that appealed to a wide range of segments.

Startup Weekend

Startup Weekend is a global organisation, funded by Google For Entrepreneurs, that recruit volunteers within cities that organise and run weekend long startup workshops. The workshops are structured specifically to assist with the challenging first few steps of setting up a business. 

As my personal CSI project, a colleague and I launched the Cape Town chapter of Startup Weekend. 

As lead organiser my responsibilities include:

• Marketing the event to potential participants and investors
• Raise roughly $ 10 000 per event from sponsors
• Source a venue that meets both the technological and logistical requirements
• Organise all catering and course material
• Book speakers, business mentors and judges to evaluate the startups
• Manage our PR, advertising and social media strategies


As an internationally qualified facilitator my role includes: 

• Facilitate various events, which normally lasts about 50 hours, over a weekend
• Educate participants on the Startup Weekend subject matter and process so that they can produce quality business plans over an exceptionally short period of time
• Manage business coaches so that they can assist teams but not smother them with information and help keep them on track
• Ensure that each stakeholder throughout the Startup Weekend event process has every resource they need to perform
• Manage event crises varying from conflict and negotiation to assisting with managing team dynamics and outputs

Part of the benefit of being a qualified facilitator is the opportunity to run events internationally. I have run in both Durban and recently Nairobi. 

Our achievements:

• We have run four events, helped create nearly 30 startups and more than 100 entrepreneurs.
