I check 6 things before sending any sales email campaign.

(Skipping even one can destroy your deliverability)

1. DNS setup → MxToolBox

SPF, DKIM, DMARC must be perfect.

If anything is in red, I let the domain warm up for longer.

No exceptions.

2. Domain reputation → Cisco Talos

If a domain's reputation isn't perfect, nothing is sent from it.

3. Email verification → Bouncer

Every email gets verified before it touches a campaign.

It also identifies spam traps, breached addresses, and complainers.

Invalid/untrusted emails = bounces = reputation damage.

4. Copy readability → Hemingway Editor

Grade 7 reading level or below.

If a 14-year-old can't understand it, simplify it.

5. Mailbox warm-up → Instantly.ai

Every mailbox needs at least 14 days of warm up.

I also always leave backup inboxes to warm up for longer.

6. Sequencing → Instantly.ai

Randomized times. Random intervals.

Predictable patterns trigger spam filters.

It's not reply rate.

It's not open rate.

It's lead-to-valid-email rate.

Here's what I mean:

You build a list of 1,000 leads.

You run them through an email finder.

Only 400 come back with valid emails.

That's a 40% lead-to-valid-email rate.

Which means 60% of your research was wasted.

I used to deal with this every week.

Be mindful of accounts that come camouflaged like this.

They are connected to 1 - 10 of your mutuals
They probably sent a connection and got accepted. 

First they InMail you
Then come asking for a demo in a manner no buyer/seller would ask.

I confronted this one, first he lashed out and also bowed out by deleting/deactivating his profile or probably blocked me.

He said I should switch to marketing, really?

Not all sales roles are created equally.

Check out these two scenarios:

Works at a company that brought its product late into the market
Or sells a product that’s a nice-to-have, but doesn't really solve a problem.

I'll say do the same if you can.

You'll find yourself wanting more if you allow it:

When you’re clearing $100k a year, you’ll want $300k
When you start making $300k every year, you’ll want $1M
Even when you get to that $1M mark, you'll be looking at $10M

It's almost never enough.

Reps over-explain
Re-pitch the product
Send long paragraphs.

You don’t need another pitch
You need to respond fast, short, and simple.

Here’s a simple template I use.

"Hey Sophie,

Thank you so much for the response, are you available Tuesday at 10am or Thursday at 2pm EST?

And if it's earlier here's my calendar link."

It's simple and straightforward
If you want, you can also send the agenda after the meeting is booked.

If you have a mouth-watering offer, you’ll naturally attract interested leads.

2️⃣ Messaging:

If a 4th grader can’t understand it, it’s probably too complicated.

3️⃣ Signals + Timing
Outbound today is about reaching out at the right moment
Imagine selling an EOR software and you see a company expanding internationally. Boom!

4️⃣ Deliverability
Even the best message won’t matter if nobody sees it
You have to make sure your emails land in the inbox.

5️⃣ Data
Data is the air we breathe in outbound.
