Work closely with building owners, tenants and vendors.  Prepare annual budgets, monthly reports, operating expense reconciliations. Kelly Mizell joined JLL in July, 2022 with more than 25 years of experience in property management. She is currently a Senior General Manager in San Antonio and oversees operations for a total of 700,000 square-foot office buildings which include The Forum, SA Tower, Live Oak Medical and Oak Hills Women’s Medical.  Ms. Mizell interfaces with tenants, vendors and management staff daily to effectively manage the properties, as well as communicates with building owners to limit costs, recommend capital improvements and maintain a superior building quality. 

Previously, Ms. Mizell worked as an Associate Director for CBRE for 9 years.

Motivation is temporary, but discipline is permanent.  Understanding the distinction is crucial for achieving long-term success and maintaining consistent progress in any endeavor.  

In order to truly achieve our goals, we must rely on disciplined actions and habits rather than fleeting bursts of motivation.  While motivation can be a powerful catalyst to initiate change, it often wanes over time, making it unreliable as a sole driving force.  

Discipline entails consistently showing up, putting in the necessary effort, and staying committed even when motivation is lacking.  

Motivation is temporary, discipline is permanent…. ❤️🙌🏻

I think at some point in our lives we all have aspirations to change the world for the better. In today’s quote Morgan Freeman makes that dream a reality with one simple statement about changing the world: One random act of kindness.

We have opportunities each and every day to display this and all it takes is just a little bit of social awareness on our part to recognize when they should occur. By showing a random act of kindess to someone can make someone’s day turn right around. This could lead to a sort of domino effect where others can pay it forward and continue that kindness theme towards more and more people. So how might you change the world with an act of kindness? Just remember it should not be just a one and done but something we should strive for each and everyday.

What does this quote mean to you and how can you apply todays message towards becoming more socially aware?

When was the last time you truly owned up to your mistake?

As leaders, we often talk about accountability but when it comes to admitting our own slip-ups, we hesitate. We justify, explain, or deflect.

Yet, true #leadership isn’t about being flawless. It’s about being honest.
Owning your mistakes doesn’t make you less capable ,it makes you more human.

Even as parents, when we fail to admit our mistakes, our children mirror that behavior.
That’s how a simple act of avoidance in childhood becomes a lifelong pattern.
