I've been a builder my whole life. In grade school, I made board games to play with my friends. In high school, I wrote short stories and a novel. I've drawn and painted since before I can remember.

14 years ago, I founded my first startup, raised funding, hired engineers, and brought my vision to market. This ignited my passion for tech.

Next, I managed a team of 36 engineers at a publicly traded SaaS company. 

Since then, I've started 3 other companies and led teams in product management, enterprise customer success, and sales. I built 3 GTM motions from the ground up and led Lavender to $1 million ARR + their series A before striking out on my own as a fractional operator and advisor.

I dream of creating new technology that changes the world, together with my friends and network.

There's the 30,000 connection limit, and (more importantly) I'll get swamped with automated dms if I accept all of them. My inbox would be unusable.

Your buyers are thinking the same thing.

So, make sure you
↳ Have a friendly and professional profile photo (mine could be better)
↳ Write a clear headline. The first 10 words matter 10x more than the rest
↳ Complete your profile
↳ Post and comment thoughtfully. Your activity section is the first place people go if they peep your profile before accepting. You don't have to post everyday, but you do have to post with quality.

I just helped a new client update their LinkedIn profiles and start posting. They started booking inbound leads immediately.

LinkedIn works. It's just louder here than before. Put in the effort, and it can work for you too.

Update on October pipegen: Hyperbound booked the most meetings this month than any other month in company history, aside from our first viral launch in January 2024.

I probably would’ve laughed (and ordered another expresso martini 🍸).

But here we are.

Hosting dinners around the world.
Creating visibility for women who deserve to be seen.

It’s wild because for most of my life, I never thought about “impact”. I actually thought I’d be retired (oh no, hello college tuition 😉).

But alas, I’m…..

… still learning.
… still screwing up tech on Zoom calls.
… still occasionally wondering what the heck I’m doing. 😆

… (but also) still building something that matters.

So if you think you’re too old, too late, or too behind, you’re not.

I’ve been seeing a trend….
more women walking away from corporate life to go fractional, consult, or build their own thing.

And I get it.
I did too.

At some point, I realized I’m “consciously unemployable”. 

That’s a choice. 

Not because I can’t play the corporate game (well actually if you know me, I can’t 🤣), but because I finally saw how much of it was built on rules that were never written for us. And I was done building others’ dreams.  

As Sarah Allen-Short wrote,  

“Liberal feminism didn’t ruin the workplace. It exposed it.”

What we’re watching isn’t women giving up. It’s women waking up.

“Lean In” taught women to play the old game. This era’s about building a new one.

When you realize the system was never designed for you, you start creating something better.

There’s a big difference between sponsorship and partnership.

Sponsorship is a contract.
Partnership is a choice.

Last week on my birthday, the messages that rolled in weren’t “per the agreement.”
They were personal and thoughtful because we know each other. 

The shirt Roxana Irimia from Chili Piper sent me was a great reminder that we don’t grow from the perfect parts of our story. We grow from the beautifully messy ones.

The perfectly imperfect ones. And if you’ve hung around me a little, you know this message is perfect!! 

Many of our partners are also members.
Not because it’s written into a package
or a checkbox.  

They choose to stand with us.
They choose to be in the room.
They choose to invest in visibility for women leaders because they believe in it.

Partnership is the kind of support that shows up as a birthday message…long after the invoice has been paid.

Feeling grateful and fueled to keep doing this work. 💜

If you ever feel like you’re bragging when you share your results, read this twice:

📊 Data is facts.
🚫 Facts aren’t bragging.

I probably say this 2x a week to someone (usually a woman) I know.

But so many of us downplay it. 
We don't post about it. 
We minimize and soften. 
We say “it was a team effort". 

Meanwhile, someone else is getting promoted/hired because they’ve kept receipts.

I met Victor Vatus way back in my old Pavilion days and recently he told me about TrackRec. And while I'm not in sales anymore, I see the value.

Facts make bias uncomfortable.
They make self-advocacy easier.
They make invisible work visible.
So no, it’s not bragging.
It’s evidence.

With my time? Not so much.  

If you’re going to a conference, you gamble everytime you accept an event invitation.  

You’re going to give up 3 hours of your precious time where you could…..

…..legibly rewrite your notes from the sessions you attended 🤣 (oh some of you have absolutely done that, haven’t you??)

…..stand in a crowded bar straining to hear what the person next to you is saying 

…..SLEEP ⬅️💜

…..work. So you’re not so behind when you get back. 👎

Or you could do something that’s a sure bet.  100% win rate (if 10/10 satisfaction is winning 🥇over the last 3 dinners and then throw in a 7 course tasting menu with walls that come alive). 

But most importantly, connections with other women executives that understand. Who may have a give to your get, a cheer for that win you’ve hidden in your back pocket for fear of looking boastful or someone you’ll sit down with for coffee the next day. AI can’t invent weird. It can’t really do different. This is still where humans have the competitive advantage 

Think about Apple’s “1984” ad.
Or, Coinbase’s random bouncing QR code.

No robot’s out here dreaming those up. 

Those ideas hit because they were so human. Unexpected. Odd.
The kind of weird that makes you stop scrolling and go, “Wait, what?”

That’s what AI can’t fake.

It can totally take your ideas and scale them. But if what you feed it is already kinda basic… it’s just going to spit out more basic.

What’s that mean for us humans? Creativity actually matters more now. Because AI’s like this giant volume knob. Whatever you give it, it just cranks it up.

Bottom line: The magic happens when a human is brave enough to think weird.
