Example:

“I am a salesperson who works for Snowflake. I mostly prospect data scientists in retail. Help me understand the job they’re trying to get done, how they’re doing it without Snowflake, and what’s frustrating about the current way.”

That’s it.

No prompts about objections.
No prompts about closing lines.
No prompts about features.

Why does this matter?

Prospects don’t pay attention to products.
They pay attention to problems.

So do you.
So do I.
So does everyone.

It’s why you’d immediately pay attention if I told you there’s dog poo in your path.

When you clearly understand the job someone is trying to get done and the friction in the current way, you stop pitching.

You stop convincing.

You start asking better questions.

Questions like:
“When you need to analyze last week’s retail sales, do you pull the data into a notebook, query it where it lives, or create a new pipeline?”

Now something important happens.

You feel calm.
You feel grounded.
You feel confident.

Not because of your value prop.
But because you’re simply checking whether a real problem exists.

Some prospects will relate to the problem.
Some won’t.

Both are wins.

Because selling isn’t about making problems appear.

It’s about noticing the ones that already exist.
