They’ll feel heard.


4. Find Common Ground Fast
↳ Talk about the venue, their drink, a mutual interest.
↳ Bonding happens when there’s shared joy.


5. Lead with Humor
↳ Make a tasteful, self-deprecating joke.
↳ Confidence is being able to laugh at yourself.


6. Don’t Overshare
↳ Keep your mess to yourself.
↳ Stay positive. No one needs your trauma dump at a networking event.


7. Add Real Value
↳ Buy a drink, make an intro, or offer a solid compliment.
↳ Over-deliver, even in small moments.


8. Respect Their Time
↳ Keep your ask short and clear.
↳ Know when to leave, exit on a high note.
