👋  I'm Joe. 

Nine years ago I was the guy who was too shy to speak to people at networking events. Even when I did pluck up the courage, it felt all people valued was my job title or my budget rather than me as a person.

I knew I wanted to meet other marketers and learn about marketing in a safe space, so when I couldn't find it, I made it.

The Marketing Meetup is a positively lovely community for marketers. (Basically, we all look after each other and treat one another as people first 😊)

Through good luck and hard work, in the years since, I (as part of a big team effort!) have built a global community of 50,000+ lovely marketers with a social following of 250k+.

Each week, we're lucky to have amazing guest speakers such as Mark Ritson, Rory Sutherland, Seth Godin and many more share time with our community - educating and connecting us all.

Experienced freelance copywriter specialising in business blogs, website copy, social media management, email marketing text and brochure text. I work, in the main with landscapers, garden designers, dog trainers and food outlets to create inspirational text that really does sell. 

I’m a farmer’s wife, living a very traditional farm wife life, growing our own veg, keeping bees, training our dogs, and spending as much time as possible with my Grandchildren.

My marketing career began in 1996 when I joined what was then Q Lawns (Now Harrowden Turf) as an administrator and soon learned that I loved presenting products in their best light. During my 20 years with the Company, I successfully launched two major products as well as managing the content on their websites. 

In 2016, I decided to go freelance so that I could be more flexible for babysitting grandchildren and supporting my ageing parents.

Today I am proud to be working with some incredible organisations. I like to think that I have contributed to their growth and success, but I am, of course, part of their epic networks of website developers, PR people, sales teams and suppliers. Much as I love working from home, I do like to be part of a team.
