I showed this chart to a friend who manages a team of 40 people.

Her response: “Wait, only 16% of people have even used a free chatbot?”

Yes. That’s the whole chart.

84% of humanity has never had a single AI interaction. The people building products, writing strategies, and running workshops about “the AI revolution” are essentially talking to each other in a very loud room.

I find this equal parts humbling and alarming.

Humbling, because it’s a reminder that the bubble we operate in is tiny.

Alarming, because the consequences of this divide are not going to stay contained to LinkedIn discourse.

Goldman Sachs puts 300 million jobs in the AI disruption zone by 2028. 90% of workers haven’t taken a single hour of AI training.

Those two numbers don’t go well together.

I work with executives every day who are trying to figure out how to talk about AI without sounding like they’re either panicking or performing. That tension is real and it’s worth taking seriously.

Because the goal isn’t to scare people into signing up for a course.

It’s to close the gap between what’s happening and what most people think is happening.

If you’re reading this, you’re probably not in the 84%. But the 84% includes people in your team, your company, your family.
