Within the International Treasury and Payments team, I develop liquidity management products and services for companies with international business. I am leading the development of the virtual accounts service to be delivered in 1Q23, with a three-year forecast of over €25 MM. This service is designed to make our clients' treasury management more efficient, helping them to generate new business (e.g. institutional clients) or to obtain a 5 to 15% reduction in their administrative costs. I have led from the business side, the elaboration of the operations book to apply for the Electronic Money Institution licenses in Spain and UK. Additionally, I am leading from business the implementation of the Open Banking and PSD2 regulation in these Electronic Money Institutions. These entities will give us greater flexibility to reach international business customers who are not already Banco Santander customers. I am leading the design of the initiatives related to generate new business opportunities taking advantage of the PSD2 and Open Banking regulation.

Senior Product Manager - Head of Liquidity Management

I report to the Managing Director of products and implementation of Global Cash Management (within the Global Corporate Banking business division).

I am responsible for identifying and creating new business opportunities based on the use of new technologies such as Internet of Things, Blockchain, APIs or Artificial Intelligence, among others. I am responsible for generating new value propositions for wholesale banking clients using the Open Business concepts, such as the generation of businesses like PISP or AISP in Europe thanks to the PSD2, the Fintech law in Mexico or DEBIN in Argentina. Developing these opportunities in the affected countries but also rolling them out to the rest of the Group Entities, helping to adapt them to the particular situations of each geography.

In addition, I am in charge of creating culture of innovation and new ways of working (Design Thinking and Agile) in the area of Cash Management that helps the evolution and adaptation to the new market environment of existing products easier and faster. I participate in innovation conferences, I am in permanent contact with Fintechs and with investment funds, as well as with specialized consultants like KPMG.

In my position it is critical to carry out an influence management to ensure the realization of the local and global projects and the report of the results to the corporation.

Thanks to my boss and my colleagues, in this period of time I have learned the differences between the retail and wholesale banking business, which has allowed me to focus the knowledge acquired in my previous stages and in the Executive MBA to the demands of our customers. It has been especially relevant at this stage to be resilient in instilling the culture of innovation in a business as traditional as Wholesale Banking. Also, I consider very relevant the self-motivation to keep abreast of the advances that are being presented and the creativity to identify new use cases for these new technological trends.

Product Manager

I reported to the corporate director of projects and implementations (within the Corporate Technology Area)

I have worked on the strategy and business model of APIs, defining proposals of value for the final client, as well as for third parties what allows to take advantage of the opportunities that appear through the Open Business concept. Many of these opportunities apply to the context of transactional banking. Among them, PSD2 regulation (one of the projects I was working in), where beyond the requests for regulation arises the possibility of building new businesses, products and services.

As an example, the creation of interfaces that allow the end customer to have an integrated view of all the accounts that have in different Entities in a single point and offers other value added services such as recommendations, advice or initiation of payments, among others.

Another line of work I led with the digital transformation team was the creation of an instant, transparent and predictable international money transfer service, through the creation of an intergroup connector and the association with third party rails.

These projects were developed under methodologies of Design Thinking and Agile, where, in addition to challenging and taking part in the definition of services and solutions, I coordinated the understanding between the business and innovation team with the technicians.

I was also responsible for the Corporate Technology relationship with Portugal, sharing with them the strategic knowledge developed by the corporation, giving the necessary support and following up on their relevant projects, as well as their systems and obsolescence plans.

Technology and Operation Project Manager for Santander Digital

My main responsibility was to provide methodology and enhance the development of the Process, Change Management and Systems Certification function in local entities, by following the action plans agreed with the different entities according to the recommendations made from the corporate center. These were adjusted to the particular situation of each case and its specific priorities. Among others, my functions were:
- Development of the approach of the function of Processes, Management of the Change and Certification of Systems
- Ensure compliance with the minimum established for the function
- Understanding the degree of maturity of the local program
- Support to the definition of objectives and needs of the local situation
- Impulse of the development of initiatives
- Carry out roll-out of best practices among countries and enrich the approach to methodologies
- Follow-up of local programs

Project Manager of countries oversight for Processes and Change Management 

I had the responsibility of designing and implement a new model to manage the continuous process improvement in the local Entities of Santander Bank. For that, I defined the roles, functions and an ideal organization chart needed depending on the different scenarios every country could stay. I created a government model to ensure the continuous process improvement and a tool kit to easy manage the huge number of initiatives that come up in every geography. 

Among others, my functions were:
- Design the continuous process improvement corporate model and the corporate tool kit
- Adapt and implement the corporate model to the local Entities
- Identify the local situation and help them to evolution their situation to the next level
- Help to the local entities to define their objectives and request aligned with their situation and the local and global strategy
- Best practices roll-out
- Follow up of the local programs

I worked on designing, modeling and developing hybrid compounds with Hydrogen storage capacity for fuel cells. The main objective of the project was to increase the efficient capacity of the compounds to make the use of hydrogen in the energy industry profitable and secure. But also, I was the Teaching Assistant for Full Professor Ernesto Brunet in the following courses:
