After supporting Xebia with various marketing needs across the organization and coordinating with the leadership of the Xebia Functional business unit, I went on to manage the Center of Excellence for Creativity and Design. In this role, I focused on driving excellence, fostering innovation, and establishing best practices in creative and design-related areas.

The primary goal of the CoE for Creativity and Design was to elevate the quality of creative outputs, encourage innovation, and ensure consistent brand representation across all touchpoints.

After 12 years of continuous growth with 47 Degrees, where we transformed a four-person company into a team of over 100 and achieved an annual revenue exceeding $15M, we decided to take the next step and join forces with the global IT company Xebia.

We were drawn to their shared values and vision for the future, seeking a partner with a strong cultural fit, a clear plan for creating future impact, and a commitment to unlocking new opportunities for our team’s growth. As part of Xebia, we rebranded as Xebia Functional, a software development brand that leveraged the benefits of functional programming to deliver scalable, safe, and efficient solutions to clients.

I continued co-leading the company with my partners while also taking on additional global responsibilities within Xebia.

My focus was on unlocking growth opportunities by aligning marketing strategies across different service lines. With a deep understanding of the various services, I worked collaboratively with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities and create impactful campaigns that drove revenue growth.

My approach was rooted in data-driven insights, enabling me to develop and execute effective marketing strategies. I believed that by breaking down silos and fostering collaboration, we could create a unified marketing approach that leveraged the strengths of each service line.

Thanks to my background—starting as an engineer and transitioning through various roles within the company—I was able to bring a well-rounded perspective to the different areas of marketing we covered, including design, communications, community relationships, and event planning.

Before transitioning to my role as Chief Marketing Officer, I served as Chief Product Officer & Co-Founder at 47 Degrees, where I played a key role in shaping the company’s strategy and driving its growth—particularly in Spain, where we established and expanded our Engineering Hub.

I was deeply involved in building and leading our open-source products, ensuring they aligned with our technical expertise and market needs. Additionally, I spearheaded the creation of conferences and events that fostered knowledge-sharing and strengthened our presence within the functional programming and software development communities.

This period was instrumental in defining our company’s direction, reinforcing our commitment to innovation, and positioning 47 Degrees as a leader in our field.

Enter Web Design (Integrated in 47 Degrees)

Before founding 47 Degrees, I started my first company, Enter Web Design, a software studio where I worked as both a backend and frontend developer, primarily using PHP. Over three years, we built various solutions with frameworks like CodeIgniter, WordPress, and Magento, delivering custom web applications and e-commerce platforms for clients.

This period was an incredible learning experience, as I started the studio from scratch—initially working as a freelancer—until it grew into a small team with developers and designers. I took on multiple roles, from project management and client relations to hands-on development, becoming a true Swiss Army knife out of necessity.

In 2010, I decided to close Enter Web Design to pursue 47 Degrees—the project that would define the next chapter of my career.

Before founding my own company, I worked as a full-stack developer at an advertising agency, where I was part of a team that developed and implemented large-scale projects and websites with millions of users, including Cadiz.es and Cadizcf.com.

This was my first experience working on high-complexity projects, where we used Java, CVS, and JavaScript to build robust and scalable solutions. It was an invaluable period that allowed me to deepen my technical skills, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, and gain firsthand exposure to the challenges of large-scale web development.

At the beginning of my career, while pursuing my Engineering Degree, I had the opportunity to work as an intern in the IT department of the University of Cádiz. During that year, I contributed to the implementation of a platform that synchronized the university’s news database with a local system, displaying real-time updates on screens across multiple campuses.

This experience was a defining moment in my journey, as it marked my first hands-on work with PHP, .NET, and MySQL. It was an incredible learning opportunity that set the foundation for my future in software development and problem-solving in real-world applications.

I co-founded a consulting company in Seattle, scaling it to over 100 employees, $19M+ ARR, and a presence in four countries (USA, Spain, the UK, and Colombia). We successfully sold the company to a global consulting firm and integrated it into their structure.

After serving as Global VP of Creativity at Xebia and other executives roles, I'm now stepping into a new chapter—taking a sabbatical to focus on my family, myself, and investing on projects that truly excite me.

I am a proven growth-focused global marketing executive, delivering business outcomes at the intersection of brand, culture and data. My roots are in the Business Consulting & IT Services market, but I have expanded my expertise over the last decade to other critical areas of the sector including SaaS/Software and Business Process Outsourcing as well as key technology domains like IoT and Cloud. 

In May 2023, I joined Xebia as the Global Chief Marketing Officer with responsibility for all aspects of marketing and communications — from brand to demand. Xebia is a diverse global IT consulting and services organization specializing in Agile, DevOps, Data and AI, Cloud, Software Tech and Low Code.

Prior to Xebia, I was the CMO of Persistent, a fast-growing global Digital Engineering company with locations in 19 countries. During my tenure at Persistent we doubled revenue to $1B (23.5% 3yr CAGR), grew team to 22,500 and drove market leading shareholder value creation (720% return in three years).

As CMO,  I led a comprehensive and sustainable transformation of the company’s marketing function, delivering greater efficiency and effectiveness from the investments in people, process, and technology. I also developed, launched, and activated a new brand system for the company, ultimately increasing brand value by 268% during my tenure. According to the Brand Finance organization, Persistent was the fastest growing Indian IT brand in 2022, 3rd fastest growing across all industries and entered the Top 25 Global IT Brands. 

Throughout my 20 year career, I've had the opportunity to build my expertise across a wide range of disciplines, including: Business Strategy & Operations, Global Marketing Management, C-suite Marketing, Product & Solution Marketing, Digital Campaign Development, Account-Based Marketing (ABM), Sales & Proposal Excellence, Digital Transformation, Thought Leadership Marketing, Social Media and Events.

I am fortunate to have led many high performing teams of various sizes to business success, from the leanest single-unit teams to more complex global organizations with over 200+ team members across all geographies. Through my experiences managing diverse and complex organizations, I’ve established a deep appreciation for the role of empathy, authenticity and transparency in communication.

Aside from spending time with my supportive family, I enjoy listening to a wide range of music, exploring the world that I only dreamt of as a child, eating the tastiest food I can find and looking for the humor in life.
