Added a Tetris-style game to a landing page to see if it could boost time on page.

Instead of the usual marketing talk, I added a line that says:
"Don't be bored by our marketing BS, just play a game and help us increase our time on page."

I know it's not CRO best practices. But who cares. I'm just having fun with AI to see what it possible. 

Built the layout with MagicPath, then switched to Cursor and Google's Gemini 3 Pro to get the interactions right.

I know from personal experience that it isn't what the LinkedIn gurus are claiming.
 
Gurus say the same shit over and over again on every post.
 
"I just made 20k yesterday"
 
or
 
"I generated 275 leads last week"
 
or
 
"I gained 175 followers from 1 simple trick"
 
Stop BSing people already. You didn't generate shit.
 
I worked with a lot of B2B brands in the last 15 years.  Do you know how much those B2B brands have to spend to generate "20k" or "275 leads"?
 
Let me tell you... lots of money.  LOTS OF F****** MONEY 😅🤣
 
If it was possible to generate "20k" in revenue or "275 leads" here on LinkedIn just posting about their expertise, believe me, they would!
 
But we have to be realistic.  You can make money on LinkedIn.  I made a lot of money on LinkedIn.
 
But my money came from full-time freelancing gigs, small clients I worked with, and I made a lot of money spread over a lot of years.
 
I never made 20k a day, and I don't believe that if you don't have a good SaaS product or a big audience you can sell your course or community subscription to, 20k a day is feasible.
 
As I said, we have to be realistic here.
 
The thing is, posting about your expertise sucks, because no one is interested in reading about it. You can see this by reading the comments on people's posts. They all say the same shit without adding any depth or value.
 
"Great post", or "this hits the nail on the head", or "this hits hard".
 
Who even talks like that in real life?
 
If you want to be successful in life or on LinkedIn, you have to be genuine. Share real opinions, share the real you.
 
Just regurgitating the same crap everyone is regurgitating isn't going to cut it.
 
Well, I guess I'm done ranting.
 
It's Friday, and the weekend is about to start. So @Netflix, here we come!

LinkedIn is threatening to block my account.
 
And I couldn't care less! Let me tell you why.
 
LinkedIn logged me out of my account 4 times in the last 2 weeks.
 
I had to accept their terms and conditions every single time and agree that I wouldn't use automation anymore.
 
Yesterday, they even sent me an email telling me that I had to stop automating my actions as they suspect that I'm using automation.
 
The only thing that I have to say about this is... so what?!
 
Let's be honest for a second.
 
How many of you here use AI to help write your posts, use AI to help write your comments, or analyze the post you want to write a comment on?
 
And be honest... Because I know most people here do.  I'm not telling you you are, but you know most people here do.
 
I will be honest with you. I have used automation in the past.  Keyword = 'Past'.
 
I don't anymore.
 
What I do use is AI to help me with the research for my posts, correct my grammar errors, the structure of my posts, my hooks, rehooks, etc.
 
I also use AI to summarize every post I read. Easy to do with browsers like Comet from Perplexity nowadays.
 
What I don't do is post something about a topic I don't know about, or respond to a post I wouldn't want to respond to.
 
My engagement is manual, and real. I only engage with the people I want to engage with and I only comment on posts I want to comment on. Because what's the point if I can't do that? It isn't fun to engage with people you can't have a meaningful conversation with.
 
I'm not here on LinkedIn to sell sh*t. I'm here to connect with people. And if I get to find a client because that person likes my posts or liked how I engaged with them, that's a bonus.
 
But I don't need to engage in the DMs every single day to try and sell sh*t. I can run Google Ads, Facebook Ads and they will work a lot better and cost me a lot fewer headaches.
 
What I do love about LinkedIn is the fact that you can meet extraordinary people here and build real connections online.
 
I hate going to network events! I'm not an in-person social guy. I prefer the comfort of my home. And LinkedIn allows you to connect with people you can have a chat with without having to grab a coffee or listen to their personal problems. So yes, that's why I'm here.
 
To LinkedIn: I don't use automation. If you want to suspend my account, you are welcome to. I'll just create a new one. But just know that it wouldn't be a great move. Because LinkedIn, even if it is a "professional" platform, is a social media platform first. And people should be allowed to engage and network as much as they want. There should be no limit as long as you keep it honest and sophisticated.
 
So to all of you reading this, maybe soon you won't see me in your feed anymore. But do not worry, I'll be back with another account.
 
The only difference is that LinkedIn won't be getting my money anymore.

Yesterday I had some free time. 

So I decided to build this AI design that renders my website.

I built this one just for fun and to see how far I can push AI for design.

The concept is a blend between Windows 95 and Apple, with a dock-style influence that gives it that clean OS feel.

Desktop was done mostly with MagicPath.

For mobile I needed a different layout so I switched to Cursor with Opus 4.5 from Anthropic to get it right.

It took a couple of hours, but I love how it turned out and it was a lot of fun.

Only 16% are reading word-for-word.

Nielsen Norman Group spent 4 years studying how people consume web content.

The finding changed everything we know about digital copywriting.

People don't read web pages. They scan them.

Picking out individual words and sentences. Deciding in seconds if the page has what they need.

Here's the problem:

Most landing pages are built for the 16%.

Dense paragraphs. No visual breaks. Value props buried in walls of text.

Your best selling points? Invisible to scanners.

The data gets worse:

Users read only 20-28% of the text on a page. 
Even when they spend their entire visit reading.

They leave pages in 10-20 seconds if they can't find clear value immediately.

That's your window. 10-20 seconds to communicate your entire offer to someone who's scanning, not reading.

But here's what works:

Bizztravel Wintersport reformatted their homepage. Decluttered it. Kept only relevant information with clear sections.

→  Result: 21% conversion increase.

BluTV did the same on mobile. Removed distractions. Added an FAQ section. Improved visual hierarchy.

→  Result: 42% mobile conversion lift.

Same offers. Same core copy. Different formatting.

The fix isn't shorter copy:

→ Break paragraphs into 2-4 sentences maximum. 
→ Use subheadings that preview each section. 
→ Add bullet points for features and benefits. 
→ Bold key phrases. 
→ Create white space.

Your scanners need to understand your offer without reading every word.

Because they won't read every word.

Stop writing for the 16% who read everything.
Start formatting for the 79% who scan.

Your conversion rate will thank you.

You spent 18 months building your product.

You know every feature, use case, and technical detail.

Then you write your landing page assuming visitors understand the problem space as deeply as you do.

They don't.

This is the curse of knowledge.

A cognitive bias where once you know something, you can't imagine what it's like not to know it.

Stanford researcher Elizabeth Newton proved this with a simple experiment.

She asked people to tap out "Happy Birthday" on a table.

The tappers predicted listeners would recognize the song 50% of the time.

Actual success rate? 2.5%.

The tappers heard the melody in their heads. 
The listeners heard random tapping.

This same gap exists between you and your landing page visitors.

→ Your "simple explanation" is packed with assumptions.
→ Your "clear value prop" uses insider terminology.
→ Your "obvious benefits" require context visitors don't have.

Experts anchor on privileged information. You skip steps that seem obvious. You organize information in ways that make sense to insiders, not first-time visitors.

The data proves this costs real money.

Hyundai ran multivariate tests on their landing page.

The combinations that made sense internally performed terribly with real users.

They rewrote everything based on actual user feedback.
Result: 208% increase in click-through rate.

Pluimen.nl discovered two CTA buttons were creating decision friction their team never noticed.

They simplified based on usability insights.
Result: 19% revenue increase.

The solution isn't working harder on your copy.

It's testing with people who don't already understand your product.

Run simple user tests or interviews.

Show your landing page to someone who matches your target audience but has never seen your product.

Ask them to explain what you do and why they'd use it.

Record what they say verbatim.

Then rewrite your copy based on what real users actually say back to you when they describe your product.

The gap between their words and yours is costing you conversions every single day.

You think people don't read your landing page because they're lazy.

They're not lazy. They're selective.

Nielsen Norman Group's eyetracking research proved this 11 years ago. 
Then they repeated the study with modern content.

Nothing changed.

Users scan in an F-pattern. 

→ Horizontal across the top. 
→ Vertical down the left. 
→ Another short horizontal sweep.

They focus on headings and the first few words of sentences. 
Everything buried in dense paragraphs gets skipped.

This isn't a bug. 
It's how humans process information online.

The 10-second rule backs this up. If visitors can't understand what you do, who you help, and what outcome you create in 10 seconds, the rest of your page doesn't matter.

Users don't scroll to find answers. 
They scan for signals that you have them.

Here's what happens when you design for this reality:

Blueink restructured their homepage around one clear purpose. Clarified the value prop. Pointed CTAs directly to the demo.

→  Signups jumped 34% in one quarter.

Loop rebuilt campaign pages with one job: guide buyers to request a demo. Removed navigation distractions. Made the CTA impossible to miss.

→ Conversions rose 28% almost immediately.

DeLogics went from 2.1% to 7.8% conversion rate through strategic restructuring. 

→ Their closure rate on leads from optimized pages increased 60%.

The pattern is clear.

Pages trying to build trust, educate, and convert simultaneously dilute their effectiveness. 

If your users can't find what they need. They bounce.

Pages with a single purpose, clear hierarchy, and benefits stated upfront convert.

Your strongest arguments need to live where skimmers are guaranteed to pass. 
The hero section. Headings. First few words of each section.

Users who can't understand your value in 10 seconds won't give you 60 seconds to explain it better halfway down the page.

Stop writing for the reader who doesn't exist. 
Start designing for the scanner who does.

If you have long text explanations but no visual demonstration, you need video.

Inconsistency signals confusion or deception.

Both destroy trust.

The fix is simple:

Audit your three core elements.

Does your subheadline explain how your headline promise works?

Does your CTA ask users to take action on that same promise?

If not, small wording changes bring them into harmony.
