At Ninjas in Pyjamas, I am in charge of all daily operations, with an extended focus on commercialization and esports.

Yesterday, Astralis delivered a CS match on a SAS - Scandinavian Airlines plane through Starlink - and Elon Musk tweeted about it 🚀 


Pushing esports and gaming into mainstream acceptance in an authentic and healthy way, is always going to be a passion of mine. When our team comes up with campaigns like this, utilizing the Astralis brand to connect different stakeholders to tell great stories, it makes me so happy for where esports is heading.

I gotta say though, in 2003, I flew to South Korea to play in the World Cyber Games, and the thought of playing an actual game on the plane with high-speed internet was definitely not on the bingo card 😂

Crazy to see how far we've come with gaming in all those years, and what's even wilder is that both the new generations of fans and technology only work in our favor with every year that goes.

After our turnaround of the team, we are only a small group of people, but already punching well above our weight.

Grinding on the business, in between a couple of CS games, with my partner in crime Jakob Lund Kristensen, as Astralis plays the first match of the new season, with an international roster. 

My whole career has been guided towards the things I enjoyed the most, with people that I enjoy hanging out with both professionally and privately. Add some serious ambition, and you've got the ride of a lifetime.

Specially in a business like ours it's important to ignore the small daily swings, and focus on the habits, culture, rational decisions and core fundamentals. The positive compound effect over time, is what builds legacies.

For our strategy offsite to kick everything off after the turnaround, three new amazing colleagues joined our small team:

- Patrick Payberg as Director of Brand Activation
- Maximilian Richter as Director of Growth & Platforms


Troels has extensive experience from Odense Boldklub, F.C. København & FC Midtjylland, and many other places, working across the entire spectrum of performance. Patrick, with the coolest combination of Sony Music Entertainment and latest AIRTOX Professional Footwear, working with artists, branding, and events, and then finally Max, who comes with a decade of esports growth and community experience, at one of the largest and most iconic companies in the space, ESL FACEIT Group - EFG.

They join Julian Miculcy, who runs all of esports, and Mathilde A., Chief of Staff, the glue that keeps it all together, and of course, Jakob Lund Kristensen and me, trusting in our crazy ideas, as we re-ignite our momentum.

Building, empowering, and nurturing high-performing teams remains the single most important factor in business. Whether a startup, a new business unit within a larger structure, or a restructured company like Astralis, what matters the very most is the first people you get onboard, and how you build a common direction together, rooted in a culture that defines the actions we all take each day. I am so proud of the group we've put together already, and it's been massively inspiring being in a room with people this good, all owning their areas as true high performers, hearing them all go through their thoughts and plans, with healthy and engaged debate from everyone.

I've always loved and embraced the concept from the legendary Netflix culture deck that coins "Talent Density" as a core KPI for any high-performing company, and I can honestly say we've nailed it with the first people here. 

Culture literally is the backbone of everything, and ours is one of committing to the power of collaborative good decision-making, solving one problem at a time, which compounds into a momentum that makes success and sustainable growth inevitable.

A new all-time record. 
Broke the previous record set just a few days earlier.

Huge credit to the team for keeping the servers rock solid under that load.

We’re building the OS for UGC in games, think GitHub, but for players and creators.

We don’t create the content. 
We enable millions of people to ship, iterate, fork, and distribute it at scale.

That’s what 31 million downloads in a day really represents. 

Next stop: 300 million/day.
