My name is John. I am the founder and CEO of Fat Earth Media, an agency promoting products with a mission.

My wife took the kids…. 


To her friends house for a couple of hours. 

What does that mean? 

I get an extra hour to work late. 

Kind of exciting to be honest. 

~ 

Hilarious though, really. 

I used to get excited about snow days and going home early for being sick. 

Then last month when Texas froze over, I was stressed for 3 hours that I couldn’t take meetings, all while my 2 kiddos just wanted time with me in the snow. 

~ 

Then today, I was on a call with a friend of mine who is a very successful entrepreneur and consultant. 

And we talked about how there are weeks we wish we could put 80 hours in. Just cuz. 

~ 

Then I see groups like the Founders club on Instagram talking about how founders are just wired differently, and it’s hard for them to relax. 

And then, I look down at my handy dandy Claude AI “grading” my health as a 30 year old entrepreneur who is working and building multiple things all at once. 

And I read: It seems like you’re constantly in fight or flight mode. 

~ 

And then it all hits me today, during lunch, where I’m crying on my couch. 

Why am I in such a hurry? 

Why do high performers crash and burn so often? 

Why do we not finish our race well? 

~ 

I don’t quite know, but I do know this line from a beautiful song hit me hard in the midst of tears: 

“It seems as though the slower I go, the faster I arrive”
