Most brands think keyword research is just… typing some ideas into Google Keyword Planner.

That’s why their ads bleed money.

Because keyword research isn’t just about “finding words.”
It’s about:
→ Understanding customer intent.
→ Mapping the buyer journey.
→ Knowing exactly where profit is hiding.

Over the last few years, I’ve audited 100+ ecommerce Google Ads accounts.
And I keep seeing the same mistakes:

❌ Everyone targets the same broad, obvious terms.
❌ Nobody segments branded vs non-branded.
❌ Long-tail keywords (the ones with insane ROI) get ignored.
❌ No clear system to prioritize which keywords actually drive profit.

After five years of building a remote marketing agency, we recently hit a new milestone: 120 active clients.

And out of all the lessons learned, this one stands out the most:

It’s about people.
It always has been.

As far as I know, humans are wired for connection.

Some lean toward many connections.
Others toward fewer, deeper ones.

Call it extraverted. Call it introverted. Doesn’t really matter.

Every person has their own playbook.
The words they use.
The food they eat.
The information they consume.
The way they like to consume it.

But underneath that, the guidelines are the same.

People want to feel respected.
They want to feel understood.
They want to feel in control.
They want to be liked.
They want their opinion to matter.

This applies to pretty much everything.
Life. Business. Anything in between.

We learned that getting great results is only part of the equation.

Clients want to be involved, to a degree.
They want to be spoken to in their language.
They want to know they’re heard, even when we disagree.

That’s why we’d rather have too much contact than too little.

Not to waste their time, but to keep alignment.

We communicate:
→ Quarterly, around goals and direction
→ Monthly, around results and strategy
→ Weekly, around KPIs and next steps
→ Sometimes daily, to sanity-check interpretations of data

That’s how we work.

We involve clients in the process.

We’re still the experts.
But we constantly explain why we are.

And that’s what makes people stick.

Here’s my weekly productivity routine, simplified:

This year, we’ll cross 7 figures in revenue generated for Amplifize.

That takes planning, processes, people and performance.

And as most founders know, the business is usually a reflection of you.

So I try to operate at peak productivity.
This is what that looks like for me:

→ My week starts on Sunday. I reflect on the past week: what worked, what didn’t, what needs improvement, and what matters next week. I plan my week hour by hour so Monday starts clean.

→ I stick to a sleep schedule. Bed around 10pm, wake up around 6am. Every day. Consistency beats motivation.

→ I stick to a diet. Less decision fatigue, more stable energy.

→ I do ~4 hours of deep work per day.

→ Team meetings on Monday and Friday.

→ Ops check-ins every other day.

→ I usually don’t work after dinner unless it’s truly necessary. Rest makes me more productive long-term.

→ Daily training. Two lifting sessions, one cardio. Repeat.

→ I recharge around people, so I plan 3–5 social moments per week. Business or non-business, doesn’t matter.

Important note: I’m not a robot.

I make exceptions.
Every Sunday, I reflect on whether those exceptions were worth it.

If yes, fine.
If not, that’s feedback for next week.

There was a phase where I tried to be involved in everything.

Every decision.
Every account.
Every conversation.

It looked like ownership.
It felt like control.

But the business didn’t scale.
I just got tired.

Letting go wasn’t a mindset shift.
It was a trust problem.

The moment I stopped proving myself
and started building people I could rely on,
the business finally moved forward.

Most founders don’t burn out because they work too hard.
They burn out because they refuse to let go.

Leadership starts where ego ends.

One of the biggest traps in Google Ads is comfort.

The account looks healthy.
ROAS is consistent.
Nothing is “on fire”.

So nobody touches it.

But comfort is not the same as progress.

In many accounts I review, performance hasn’t dropped.
It just hasn’t moved.

Same spend.
Same revenue.
Same patterns.
Month after month.

What’s missing isn’t optimization.
It’s expansion.

No new search terms being explored.
No new products being pushed.
No new customer types entering the system.

A growing account is messy.
Numbers fluctuate.
Some tests fail.
Some weeks look worse before they look better.

That discomfort is a feature, not a bug.

When an account feels perfectly stable,
it often means learning stopped a long time ago.

And once learning stops,
scaling is already over.

How I will make 2026 a great year, personally:

I wrote down goals.

Some are clean checkboxes.
Revenue targets. A certain weight. Clear outcomes.

Others are more reflective.
Things like: “don’t chase easy dopamine.”

Every Sunday, I reflect on them.

And honestly, before I start, I rarely feel like doing it.

But once I begin, something clicks.
After the first minute, the thoughts start flowing onto paper.

Based on that reflection, combined with my weekly goals, I plan the week ahead.

I do the same on a daily basis.
Monthly too.
Quarterly.
Yearly.

It can feel like a hassle.

But it helps me do two things:

Slow down

Live intentionally

I cut the things that drain energy and don’t move me toward any goal.

And if something gives me fulfillment and genuinely makes me happy,
I try to do more of that.

Simple.
Not easy.
But worth it.

My take on the biggest question of 2026:

Will AI replace my (online) job?

I run an ecommerce-focused Google Ads agency with ~120 active clients.

People often ask if I’m scared of AI taking my job, or my team’s job.

My answer:

Yes.
AI will replace parts of our job.

But it’s not binary.

The real question is:
To what extent will people trust an algorithm to spend their money with zero human context or control?

I think there will always be a human layer in between.

Experience.
Judgment.
Context.
Trust.

Those things still matter when brands decide where to put their marketing budget.

Even if AI does 90% of the execution better than us.

Our job is simple:
We help ecommerce brands grow.

How we do that will change.

Less manual campaign management.
More strategic thinking.
More leverage.
More knowing how to use the system instead of fighting it.

So my TLDR:

If you adapt, you’ll survive.
Founder. Media buyer. Technician. Doesn’t matter.

Just keep using your brain.

Try to take more pictures.

More POVs.
More selfies.
More moments.

Not just for content quality, but for memory.

Pictures are cues.
They help you relive experiences.

The easiest way to write content is to review two things:
Your calendar.
Your photo library.

Most people already use their calendar decently.
If you don’t, this is your sign to start. It becomes your timeline.

And for reliving experiences: take pictures.

Not living on your phone.
Just capturing moments.

Working
Training
Coffee
Parties
Games
Travel
Conversations
Random days

Collect them like Pokémon.

When you don’t know what to write or reflect on, open your photo library.

Relive the moments.

Then do more of what you liked.
And less of what you didn’t.
