As Chef Planet I guide organizations from a bird's eye view in the process towards a future-proof and regenerative organization that makes a positive environmental, economic and social impact.

With in-depth knowledge, available tools and practical experience, I guide organizations to make sustainability an integral part of their strategy, culture and processes. The foundation of my work is based on systems thinking, nudging theory and sustainable business models.

The Van den Berg Group, operated by relatives of mine, is a farm with approximately 1200 dairy cows and several hectares of crops. I was responsible for day-to-day operations.

I worked in a scrum platform team with as goal to improve an existing platform (DWP) used internally by KvK employees to view, track and apply changes to underlying registry systems. This new platform was created to phase out a number of older, no longer maintained applications and to unify those in once place. 
In this platform team, I:
- urgently proposed and oversaw implementing feature deployments to relieve the acceptance environment from being abused for team feature testing. This was heavily impeding the weekly release process and required error-prone, painstaking, manual version control modifications.
- strongly moved for a revision of frontend-backend architecture to remove responsibilities and business-logic from the frontend, leading to a proof-of-concept with an experience API for a new team joining the platform and to architects and back-enders carrying the philosophy behind experience APIs (or the more general philosophy, backend-for-frontend).
- helped initiate and create a multi-stage improvement plan, exploded into JIRA epics and stories, for improvements to the frontend, best-practices, organisation and collaboration.
- created a specific Frontend Developers teams channel and kickstarted an optional, recurring "guild" meeting for frontend developers to communicate changes, findings, promote Q&A, building a sense of collective ownership and foster knowledge exchange.
- implemented repository tooling to improve code-quality, dependency-separation
- performed Angular upgrades
- promoted using Renovate for automated dependency upgrades
- cleaned up unit-tests, communicated caveats, built a pipeline job to help detect flaky unit-tests
- proposed to use templates for stories and contributed to- and maintained these templates over time
- moved to use Angular Material and atomic design
- built a number of generic components
- helped frontenders from contributing teams
- explained technical improvements in layman's terms using diagrams in Sprint Reviews

At Carepay I've enjoyed working for a great company with the social-economic mission to improve healthcare in three major African countries. During my time here, I've worked on features for three different teams in the Angular frontend codebase, worked on some platform improvements (among others an app-wide default error-handling mechanism consuming both legacy backend errors and newer problemJSON responses, and adding lint-staged to improve code-quality at pre-commit time), participated in support duties, built internal tools using Retool to automate time-consuming support processes and discovered (during Covid-19) that working from home abroad with valued colleagues acts as a gigantic stress relief, productivity boost and motivator.

Frontend Developer

Having helped start the second unit of frontend developers within CodeZilla was a great experience and brought me experience in conducting job interviews. Regular knowledge sharing sessions, cool company events (some even during covid, when it was possible), great colleagues with a lot of frontend knowledge and humour, having the opportunity to work at a comfortable and spacious new shared office in Utrecht and in general a friendly and amicable ambiance all contributed to a great time working at CodeZilla.

KLM Royal Dutch Airlines

Working in the BlueWeb Search team - which was responsible for building and maintaining the search component of KLM's online ticket-sales web application - taught me what working in a fast-paced, highly agile, super-coöperative team with a lot of responsibilities is like. I enjoyed learning a lot from smart and able colleagues both within my own team and in the BlueWeb team at large. 
I briefly took over a small part of the information-analysis responsibilities of a colleague that left, and I got the chance to not only work with GraphQL in the front- and backend, but also be part of a small 'taskforce' to refactor a set of overcomplicated frontend components and implement GraphQL caching using readQuery and readFragment at the same time, greatly reducing these components' complexities.

I did my graduation project at Booreiland, a platform for creative  productions that 'engages' in the internet of things, by trying new projects in this area and by having written a book about it called 'Metaproducs'. I created an iPad app prototype together with an arduino solution for a (physical) tennis traning device. The main focus for me was the technical part of the prototype, programming, hardware (electronic) prototyping and the communication between the two. I learned a great deal from this project.
