Every vendor promises autonomous AI for GTM. None of them can actually deliver it…. Yet. 

Here’s why and what you need to build instead.

The gap between AI hype and reality isn’t about model capability. It’s about architecture.

We go deep in this concept in the IGNITE book released just barely.

Most companies are trying to buy autonomous GTM from a single platform. 

That’s like expecting one tool to handle your entire tech stack. It won’t happen.

What actually works is a 5-layer architecture where each layer does what it’s built for:

Layer 1: Data Foundation
Your CDP, CRM, data lakehouse, and identity resolution create the ground truth. Without clean, unified data, everything built on top collapses. This is where 70% of AI projects fail, not because the AI is bad, but because the data is garbage.

Layer 2: Integration Layer
MCP (Model Context Protocol), APIs, and connectors let your systems talk to each other without building custom integrations for every combination. This is the “USB-C for AI” one protocol that connects everything.

Layer 3: Agent Layer
This is where specialized AI agents live. The Analyst pulls insights. The Strategist recommends next moves. The Content Agent generates variations. The Optimizer runs experiments. Each agent is narrow and verifiable, not trying to do everything.

Layer 4: Execution Layer
Ads, email, web personalization, campaign launches. This is where AI decisions turn into real actions. Current systems handle this autonomously for narrow tasks (bid optimization, send-time) but still need human approval for creative and strategy.

Layer 5: Human Oversight
Governance, strategy, brand stewardship, guardrails. Humans don’t disappear, they move up the stack. You own the creative direction, relationship decisions, and high-stakes judgment calls that AI can’t verify.

The reality check:
Gartner predicts 60% of brands will use agentic AI by 2028. They also predict 40% of agentic AI projects will be canceled by 2027.

The difference? 

Companies that win aren’t deploying the most AI. They’re architecting human-AI collaboration with clean data, proper governance, and realistic expectations about what AI can actually do autonomously today versus three years from now.

The people winning last year and this one are the ones planning for this future so when the tech is available they are ready.

Sales Enablement Manager

•Align learning and development principles with adult learning theory to foster change. Plan and facilitate interactive learning sessions for corporate sales team. 
•Create and track win/loss reports for senior leaders, providing recommendations on enablement opportunities.
•Plan annual Global Sales Kick Off aligned with leadership vision and objectives. Organize content including theme, agenda, general session, breakouts, and panel discussions. 
•Plan and monitor Sales Certifications to solicit behavior change; plan and execute new processes and initiatives such as Salesforce Hygiene that improved user functionality, communication, and tracking.

It’s my birthday this week (on Thursday), and over the weekend my best friend drove ~2 hours up to the city to take me out to dinner.

At the end of the meal, the server asked if we were celebrating anything. When we said “birthday,” they disappeared… and came back with a giant stick of cotton candy with a candle on top.

Not cake.
Not ice cream.
Cotton. Candy.

We nearly fell out of our seats laughing, mostly because it was so unexpected 😝 But also because it somehow felt exactly right.

There’s not a lot for me to say about Revenue Enablement, or GTM Strategy, or anything “professional” when the country is being torn apart at the seams. 

This moment in time is beyond “politics,” it is about morality and the difference between right and wrong. 

My number one core value, as a person, a professional and a business owner, is integrity. 

Waking up this morning, I realized that at this point, silence on this platform feels like co-signing what happening. Which is not who I am. Which means showing up here to say loud and clear - I do not support ANYTHING being done by this administration. I never have, I never will, and for most of my life, I have spent my personal time, influence and resources to move things in the opposite direction. Full stop.

All of that said, if you thought you’d supported something you believed in but you’ve changed your mind, that’s ok. Really, it is. It’s ok to say “the thing I thought I believed in turned out to be wrong.” It’s better to say it now than never at all. The gift of being alive is that we get to work on becoming something more, something fuller, every single day, even if it feels like back-peddling or taking a total 180. I promise you, you won’t regret it. My DMs are open if you want to talk about it.

I did some fun math this morning: Between this time last year and today, I've had a 136.911% increase in followers.

Yes, that's correct - ONE HUNDRED AND THIRTY SEVEN (always round up) PERCENT INCREASE IN A YEAR.

Am I a mega-voice on LI? Absolutely not. But adding 2000 followers in a year, kinda by accident, clearly means I'm doing some things right. I looked back to see if I could find any patterns, and in all honesty, there aren't any (besides the couple of viral post days that brought maybe ~100 followers total.) 

But here's what I did do:
- Show up as myself. Whether that's random thoughts about the Party Parrot emoji, deep dives on the state of GTM & Enablement, a few vacay pics and some 🔥  new headshots, and plenty of getting into the comments on my posts and others; consistency and just... being here... went a long way.
- Sharing my link at events, virtual and in person. If that chat is rolling on a webinar, or folks have their phones out at an in-person event, get your link or QR code out there! (Funny enough, I share mine out a lot but I almost never add other people, because I am a slacker at heart 🤦‍♀️ )
- Wing it. Honestly, I've never had a plan for LI. I've scheduled out posts a handful of times. I have ZERO content strategy. I try to post consistently, but there were stretches of a week or two there I legitimately had nothing to say. Planning might work better or work for some, but I honestly have never had discipline about anything and too much overthinking makes it stop being fun. So here's to winging it some more in 2026!

Friendly reminder that sometimes you don’t get what you planned, you get what you need…

I was supposed to leave Vancouver at 6am PT and be home at 4pm ET, flying through Seattle. The way things turned out, I left Vancouver at 2pm PT and will be getting home around midnight ET, going through Salt Lake City. But honestly, it’s been a good day all in all. 

(Side note, the Delta SkyClub in Terminal B at SLC is outrageously gorgeous and you need to go visit.)
