That means I managed warehouse lines of credits including the funding and purchasing of residential mortgages,  negotiated vendor contracts, manage Accounts payable as well as processing weekly vendor checks. 
I prepared monthly internal financial statements using QuickBooks desktop, recorded and analyzed monthly activity utilizing QuickBooks desktop. 
I also converted payroll systems which streamlined the process and saved the company money.
I manage all aspects of human resources including background checks, onboarding of staff and exit conferences.

The $600 1099 threshold is finally dying. 🎉 Hooray! 👏

Starting with 2026 payments (filed in 2027), the threshold jumps to $2,000. Then it inflates annually after that.

For law firms with dozens of small vendors, this is huge. Fewer forms. Less penalty risk. Less time tracking who hit $600 this year.

What doesn't change: You still need records for everything. The $2,000 threshold is for reporting, not for tracking.

And 2025? Still $600. Nothing changes for the forms you'll file in early 2026.

What to do now: January always comes fast. ⏰ Before year-end, get W-9s from anyone you've paid this year. 

👉 Make W-9 collection mandatory before first payment going forward.
