Influencer marketing acquisitions surged during the pandemic (2020–2023) but declined sharply last year.

So far, 2025 has been noticeably busier, with 15 IM deals announced to date.

Across the broader creator economy, M&A activity has been even stronger, with 72 transactions closed through Oct. That's already surpassed 2024's annual total, so we expect a record 100+ creator economy acquisitions by year-end.

So why the temporary slowdown in IM acquisitions last year?

A few likely factors:
• A tougher macroeconomic environment and higher cost of capital post-ZIRP.
• Political and economic uncertainty during the 2024 election year.
• Buyers taking time to digest the flurry of deals from 2020 to 2023.

Interestingly, while U.S. influencer marketing deals declined sharply, European activity remained steady. And overall creator economy M&A still hit record highs in 2024 despite the IM slowdown.

It’s an exciting time for the influencer marketing space and the creator economy at large. The continued momentum around M&A dealmaking shows just how far the industry has come and how much opportunity still lies ahead for entrepreneurs, capital allocators, and creators.

In 2021 UKXP led the world's first EOC (Emergency Operations Center) that was led and powered by the gaming community. 

UKXP led a nation-wide effort to support communities in southern Louisiana impacted by Hurricane Ida. The effort consisted of numerous echelons of coordination between government, municipal leaders, gaming organizations, disaster response groups, communities, and the gaming community at large. Our team created and continues to refine a blueprint that is helping to shape the future of disaster response and readiness.

Today we work with leaders, organizations, and communities as innovative leaders of 21st century community and modern anthropology.

From 2010 to 2020 I served as a Missile Defense officer. I led, managed, and deployed hundreds of personnel and over $500M in equipment of Air and Missile Defense systems and radars with deployments to CENTCOM. This included the development of branch wide policies, tactics, and procedures and provided Instruction to brigade and division leaders on the training, planning, and employment of Air and Missile Defense Systems and radars, Space enabler capabilities, and C4ISR platforms. 

Today I also continue to serve as a Government Service (GS) Civilian at the 605th Test and Evaluation Squadron (TES) as an Operational Planning Specialist (Ops Analyst). I primarily support Operational Test (OT) for a myriad of Air Force command and control weapon systems and platforms.
