Talon Audio Visual turns creative visions into technical realities, offering pre-event planning, networking and IT, AV production, project management, and consulting.

We keep events connected, offering AV, Event WiFi, Live Streaming, Production-As-a-Service, Accessibility, and Event Localization consulting nationally.

We work with clients, event agencies, technology vendors, and planners to deliver in-person, hybrid, and virtual events for industries like technology, finance, retail, and education. Our mission is to partner with clients to create successful, accessible events tailored to their unique needs.

From optimizing signal routing to live captions, our team ensures seamless execution. Whether it’s streaming to multiple platforms, enabling closed captioning, or managing event IT, we handle the technical complexities so you can focus on your audience.

Principal

UC Davis Academic Technology Services

As the Special Event Technical Director, I was the first point of contact for UC Davis event planners with AV or event technology needs, and I supported client events from initial contact and to production and through to final billing.

I designed, deployed, and operated video and audio systems and supervised crew for live events ranging from small executive meetings to general sessions, along with press conferences, studio recordings and live broadcasts for TV or Radio. I provided pre-event and on-site production and presentation support, mixed audio for FOH and broadcast, directed and switched video for screens and for broadcast, and operated cameras, replay systems, or other audio and video equipment as needs arose.

I served on the Electronic Accessibility Committee representing the IT and AV organizations and implementing system-wide accessibility policy on campus to increase accessibility of online content. I was charged in particular with developing video captioning services integrating captioning into campus-wide services and workflows, and then serving as an evangelist to champion wide use of those systems.

-Served as Technical Director and primary technical contact for event clients
-Built event technology and staffing packages that meets client's technical needs and budgets.
-Coordinated on and off-campus resources to meet event technical needs.
-Managed campus crews, student staff, off-campus vendors, and venue staff to ensure event success
-Represented AV and IT umbrella in campus-wide discussions of electronic accessibility and championed video captioning to internal stakeholders and clients.

By building trust and leveraging partnerships, I consistently increased or maintained event support sales revenue up to 140% year-over-year, despite overall reduced staffing department-wide.

I also consulted on AV specs and designs for new construction of events and teaching spaces to ensure compatibility with event needs.

Special Event Support Technical Director

I worked independently and with other ATS staff to assemble and deploy live sound and video systems. Depending on client needs, I mixed audio for house PA, monitors, and live video feeds (A1), provide stage/talent audio support (A2), or provide on-site production support in other areas (Presentation Video, camera operation, powerpoint support).

I developed and deployed two generations of presentation switching systems and direct and operate live presentation video systems providing PowerPoint slides, still graphics, and both live and prerecorded video content to house video displays and projectors.

Special Events AV Technician

ASUCD Entertainment Council

Served as Production Manager and technical expert for live entertainment on campus. Working closely with student government, campus radio station, and student union staff, acted as inter-departmental technical and productions liaison. Coordinated between campus stakeholders, artists, venues, and vendors.

Served as both pre-show and day-of event Production Manager, specified and managed vendor contracting for sound and lighting systems, and serving as the primary point of contact for artists, technical staff, and venue management leading up to and on day-of show.

For small-venue shows served as PM and A1.

Designed, specified, and maintained an outdoor movie screening system.

Production Manager

I translate creative vision into technology reality. My experience in the technology, health, and nonprofit verticals includes producing top tier events for organizations like Google, Microsoft, Notion, and the University of California and many others all over the US.

As a child, my love of playing with microphones and stereo equipment evolved into calls over the PA for AV support in school. This set me on the path to a career in events and nearly 20 years of professional experience producing both in-person and broadcast live events, including 15 years as the Principal at Talon Audio Visual.
