I’m the CEO of A Sales Growth Company (ASG) and the author of Gap Selling. Over the past decade, I’ve built a body of work that includes the Problem-Centric Operating System™ (PCOS), the Buyer Confidence Model, and the Problem Identification Chart (PIC) — frameworks that rewire how revenue organizations operate, forecast, and grow.

My journey?

In less than 4 years, from 2018–2022, I closed over $50M in enterprise tech sales, leading AI-enabled transformation deals with companies such as Delta, Chipotle, and UnitedHealthcare.

I entered the 7-figure annual earnings club in 2019 and averaged $1M+ for 3 consecutive years before stepping away from corporate sales at age 42.

That type of success wasn't always the case.

Like many competitive, high performers, I bought into hustle culture earlier in my career. The constant pressure eventually led to severe burnout, including a hospital visit in my early 30s, from overworking. Despite my increased efforts, my earnings stalled around ~$200K per year.

Everything changed when I adopted a Human First, Seller Second philosophy. I combined systems thinking and intentional performance design.

Instead of pushing harder, I redesigned my approach. The result wasn’t just higher income. It was sustainability—and more importantly, authentic autonomy.

The outcomes:

→ High performance while averaging ~7 hours of sleep
→ $27.3M+ in ARR generated with a 78% close rate
→ $3.8M+ in personal income in under 4 years
→ Corporate retirement 10 years ahead of plan

I spent 30 years hiding. Now I talk about all of it openly.

• Almost shot myself at 15 (gun went off too soon)
• Tried to overdose on pills at 18 (chose the wrong ones)
• Battled an eating disorder at 21 (when I was in athlete shape)

Why should I hold "shame" on stuff that makes me who I am today?

Now, I openly talk about the hard stuff because I finally understand something a Buddhist monk I admire once wrote:

"How will you ever know you're made of gold unless you get melted a little bit?"

It's taken a lot of time, effort, reading, writing, studying, silence, travel, therapy, failing, and consistent practice to realize nothing "bad" happens to us. It's only our reaction to circumstances that are perceived as bad.

If we take the time to zoom out on our situation, and ask ourselves, "was this meant to actually serve me in some way?" More times than not, it leads to clarity.

There are "clouds" we're in all around us:

• Busy lives
• Big dreams
• Demanding jobs
• Personal traumas
• Competing priorities
• Constant distractions
• Endless negative headlines
• Relentless barrage of addictive technologies

But if we don't take some time to step away from all of that chaos, how can we get clear about our purpose in life?

All of the "bad" stuff above happened within the first 3 decades of my life.

The 4th decade (I'm more than halfway through) is starting to show a lot of peace and promise.

I don't have it all figured out, but doing purposeful work to gain clarity has infinitely made my career and life a lot better.

This kind of inner work isn't easy. It takes time, intention, and a willingness to sit with discomfort.
