Four of the companies I've advised have had successful exits -- HubSpot, Accompany, DataRPM, and PartnerHacker.

When Mark Shashoua was eight years old, his father brought him to his first trade show - one of the first Western-led exhibitions in a newly opened market. He watched people from different cultures meet face-to-face for the first time to do business.

💎 He calls his best attendees "Gold Dust." The people others will pay to meet. Hyve invests heavily to attract them and build double opt-in matchmaking around them. That's what makes the portfolio recession-resistant.

🤝 Founder chemistry is everything. He courted HLTH for six years before acquiring it. If the alignment isn't there, he walks - no matter how good the asset.

🌍 Geo-expansion is not an experiment. A dedicated incubator team takes brands into new markets with real investment. No "launch 10 and hope 3 stick."

The results? Three straight years of double-digit organic growth. 15% like-for-like. 26% EBITDA growth. Not from cutting - from execution.

Diana Florescu, CEO of mediaforgrowth (MFG), is building exactly that bridge. On The Revenue Room Podcast™, she breaks down how Media for Equity works - and why it's already helped create 35+ unicorns in Europe over the past 25 years.

The premise is deceptively simple: media companies contribute advertising inventory to a fund. Growth-stage consumer brands receive that media - plus hands-on strategic support - in exchange for equity. The media company gets a new advertiser pipeline, immediate revenue recognition, and long-term upside. The brand gets the mass-market exposure they could never otherwise afford.

One case study she shared: a Swiss beverage brand called Kayaks ran a four-month campaign across connected TV, streaming, and out-of-home. The results? 10x revenue growth, 400 new retail doors, and a significant drop in customer acquisition costs. Not too shabby!
