Content does not scale your revenue.

I learned this building Reveting.

There was a season I thought to
post more.
go live more.
be everywhere.

And while visibility grew, revenue didn’t move the way I expected.

Because content alone is exposure.

Exposure without structure is performance. I love theater so I'm all about a good performance, but that's not why I was doing what I was doing.

What actually changed our business was 

☑️ one core pillar and offer around livestreaming.
☑️ a more defined client journey
☑️ building lead data, ai, and automation on the CRM for ourselves and clients
☑️ offers positioned clearly enough that the right people self-identify.

The livestream isn’t the strategy.
The ecosystem around it is.

When someone watches a show we produce, they’re entering:

– A retargeting loop
– A follow-up system
– A nurture sequence
– A sales conversation already warmed

That’s why some brands post daily and stay stuck.

And others post weekly and close consistently.

It’s not effort.

It’s engineering.

This weekend I went to Warm Glow Candle Company in Centerville, Indiana for my favorite hand-dipped candles.

That business isn’t successful because the candles are pretty (and let me tell you they are literally the best candles on earth).

Most founders are focused on the flame.

Very few build the structure that holds it.

Execution is part of RevOps.

It’s just not the most important part.

Yes — we build dashboards.
We define lifecycle stages.
We design routing logic.
We implement automation.
We clean the CRM.

But that’s the visible layer.

The real leverage sits around execution.

Take a common scenario: pipeline looks weak.

Execution is easy:

Pull Salesforce data.
Calculate conversion rates.
Build the dashboard.
Present it in the QBR.

AI can already do most of that.

But before you even open Salesforce, the real questions are:

What is actually slowing revenue down?
Is it top-of-funnel volume?
Poor qualification?
Deals stalling at procurement?
Weak discovery?
Or inflated pipeline hygiene?

If you misidentify the bottleneck, everything you build is noise.

Then there’s another layer:

Are our CRM stages describing what’s really happening — or protecting someone’s targets?
Is “Commit” realistic?
Is “SQL” defined tightly?
Are stuck deals being moved — or hidden?

A dashboard won’t fix misaligned incentives.

After you present the analysis, the work isn’t over.

Did Sales accept the diagnosis?
Did Marketing reallocate spend?
Did Finance adjust hiring?
Did forecast behavior change?
Did decision speed improve?

If nothing changes, you didn’t do RevOps.

You produced reporting.

RevOps is not a production function.

It’s a coordination function.

Dashboards, workflows, and attribution models are not outputs.

They are shared surfaces.

They exist so Sales, Marketing, and Finance operate from the same reality.

This is where the AI fear is misframed.

AI can:

Build the dashboard.
Draft the QBR.
Suggest routing logic.
Summarize calls.
Flag anomalies.

Execution cost is collapsing.

But RevOps was never about the artifact.

It’s about:

Figuring out what’s actually slowing revenue down.
Designing definitions that hold up under pressure.
Understanding where incentives distort data.
Turning analysis into aligned action.
Reducing friction between teams that don’t fully trust each other.

As AI makes execution cheaper, surface output will explode.

More dashboards.
More automations.
More analysis.

Which means signal-to-noise becomes the real problem.

The future of RevOps isn’t faster builders.

It’s clearer system thinkers.

The people who can engineer shared reality inside revenue teams.

Execution is visible.
Orchestration is leverage.
And leverage compounds.
