Head of Digital Production

Born Digital

My role at Born Digital was a ‘hands-on’ General Manager role, managing key clients/larger projects whilst also leading a team of 11 digital producers, designers, front and back end developers delivering a range of projects spanning responsive websites, mobile apps and kiosks. 

The combination of roles allowed me to broaden my application/knowledge of digital tech whilst allowing me to fulfil the aspirations of a GM, further cementing my skills in managing P&L, Staff growth (recruitment) and development, process management and team leadership.

Whilst working with Born Digital, I supported the tender process helping the company to win their three largest projects - truecommercial.co.nz, motat.org.nz and Driven.co.nz – throughout all of which I played the role of both Digital Strategist/UX and Project Manager. This has allowing me to focus attention on pathways and goals, both within the project’s core delivery (i.e. the digital destination itself), but also to focus on external factors such as SEM/SEO, data collection, tracking & reporting and a wider, ongoing project roadmap.

FCB New Zealand

Officially promoted to the role of Head of Department in June 2012 as a result of the growth of the team over the previous 2-3 years. Whilst continuing in the role of Digital Producer I was also responsible for the recruitment and management of the digital production team which grew to 13 full time (whilst utilising freelance and third parties to cover overflows and skills shortages), ensuring quality deliverables that are achieved on time and to budget.  

Key tasks include managing daily/weekly production meetings, maintaining production schedules, budgets, planning, recruitment, utilization management, leadership, pre-sales, training, internal communications.

In addition to being hands on in a Digital Production role across projects such as Vodafone (Do Your Thing Better, Internal Comms), MINI/SPCA (MINI.co.nz, Driving Dogs), Westfield Fashion, Mitre10 (Easy As), ALAC (Yeah-Nah) and PrimeTV (various) in addition to the new DraftFCB website and Intranet.

Senior Interactive Producer within one of New Zealand's leading advertising agencies DraftFCB. 

My role involved working with and supporting the Digital Direct and Creative teams through the delivery of digital campaign activities typically ranging across the full spectrum of banners, edms, microsites, corporate sites, facebook apps, mobile apps, out-of-home experientials and the capturing/reporting the data behind them, be it from a tracking perspective or CRM.

Skills drawn upon include Project Management, Business Analysis (Information Architecture, Usability, User Experience design (UX Design)), Team Leadership, Supplier Management, Research, Strategy, Client Liaison and Testing (QA).

Clients included Vodafone, Air New Zealand, BMW/MINI, Mitre 10, ANZ, Prime, Westfield, Genesis Energy, ALAC, MOH, NZTA and Bonus Bonds amongst others.
