Given that as a whole we have grown exponentially in the previous few years, this involves constantly engaging numerous parties, both internal and external, to maximize our team and firm's potential.       

Operations
- Optimized firm workflows, and monitor their ongoing success in continuing to drive firm efficiency.

Finance
- Review and management of financials which are used in forecasting and tracking our merger and acquisition strategy.

Compliance
- With numerous state and federal regulatory bodies to be mindful of, this consists of constant awareness and consideration of the ever-changing landscape.

Responsible for the day-to-day operational management of the firm across all business functions.  Concurrently analyzed processes to identify areas for increased efficiency and effectiveness.  Furthermore, constantly engaged in discussion to form strategic partnerships, including ADP Total Source.

- Restructured the firm's books while systematically analyzing all line items to identify impactful focus areas for employees and the firm.  This included providing employees a more robust benefits program, while saving the firm over 15% of costs in this area.     

- Responsible for launch of our sister firm, Sentinus Securities, a full-retail broker-dealer.  This involved navigating complex legal and regulatory hurdles in order to become fully operational to increase our revenue by 10% in this business line.

Chief of Staff

Performed tax research for planning and restructuring, including the management of tax attributes of foreign subsidiaries as used for potential repatriations.  Also performed Substantial Contribution analysis; anti-deferral rules, referred to as Subpart F.

- Proposed and worked with a senior partner to implement a liaison program between the Diversified Staffing Group and the Senior focus areas.  This improved communication and transparency to junior staffers, while encouraging participation in niche areas.

Tax Associate, International Tax Services

Baker Tilly Virchow Krause, LLP

Instrumental in support of firm's largest tax client that included supervisory responsibilities, project management, and review on numerous projects.  Other work included transfer pricing, tax provisions, and state unclaimed property.

- Assisted human resources in revamping the internship program and on-boarding procedures.  The resulted in a structured, defined, and goal-based program with clear expectations.

Senior Tax Accountant

Aided with financial planning for high net worth individuals.

- This included: Comprehensive risk and opportunity assessment, estate transfer and asset protection, and investment analysis and management.

Finance Intern

Law Society of Alberta

Ran ACL analytics remotely, while analyzing and preparing data for inclusion in requests for information for preliminary audit reports.

- During the pilot program upgraded the in-house ACL data-mining routines which resulted in over a 50% reduction on time spent per file.
