Work in a client facing role, meeting with directors and lead technical staff of companies that are involved in research and development.

Support clients’ research and development tax relief claims by identifying qualifying expenditure and preparing technical reports to submit to HMRC.

R&D Tax Consultant

Worked in the private client tax consultancy team, providing clients with bespoke private client tax advice.

Prepared tax planning reports such as IHT planning with the use of trusts, overseas workday relief with details of arranging a special mixed fund account, transferring privately owned assets into an UK company, residency and domicile reviews.

As you’re probably aware, HMRC has increased scrutiny of R&D tax claims. Good. There were too many fraudulent/incorrect R&D claims from “advisors”. The extra scrutiny has gotten rid of many (not all).

If HMRC opens an Enquiry into your client’s R&D claim, we will handle it without any additional costs.

If we’ve made an error, we’re protected with professional indemnity insurance, although we’ve not had to use it yet!

We agree to any referral fees with you (if any) up front and agree to this in writing, protecting you and us.

Similarly, we agree to all fees upfront with your client. We won’t charge any unexpected fees and we have no weird fees hidden in our terms and conditions.
