Here's the truth: Earning income as a creator isn't working for me.

Part of me likes the idea of it. 
The freedom. The access. The ownership. And sure, the money.
But I can feel in my gut it's not right--at least not right now. 

It's felt impossible to continue building a business around creating more branded videos when my soul is screaming at me to sign off and be present in the real world once my workday is done. I can feel myself being driven by all the wrong things:
 - jealousy at feeling left behind as creators I came up with start hitting it big.
 - self-criticism that I'm using motherhood as an excuse for not succeeding when there are plenty of amazing moms out here crushing it.
 - fear that I'm not as good as I used to be--not as creative, not as competitive.

So I'm saying no. I'm leaving, not being left. Not leaving this platform, but the hamster wheel of sponsored content and the subsequent pressure to post when I don't really have anything to say so my reach is in good shape so I can keep posting sponsored content. I ramped down a lot this year (this is about 1/3 of what I earned the previous year for sponsored content) and next year, I'm taking a year off.

I'm going to use that year to do something different. Something that goes deeper. Something that is aligned with how I want to use my brain, how I value my time, and that I actually believes meets the moment and serves a need for the vast majority of people trying to build a personal presence on LinkedIn. I'm announcing it on my birthday, December 6th--so watch this space.
