I watch the watchers, I direct the learners. 

I am passionate about machine learning. My life's mission is to further the boundaries of what is possible with data science. I spend as much time as I can working with deep learning, NLP, and all forms of data science. I currently have a passion project I am managing where I am combining the power of genetic programming with deep learning to automate network design. I think there is a trend happening in data science where human expertise and creativity are being replaced by powerful new methods (i.e. deep learning, big data). 

I am most well known for my machine learning work with the data science community and with HireVue. With the community, I enjoy posting opinions on jobs and tutorials on ML methods. I also enjoy speaking and presenting to all types of audiences. 

I've enjoyed working across engineering, product, sales, marketing, and customer success. This wider POV has helped shape the way I think about innovation, from the innovation farm to the customer's table ;)

Through my inbound marketing strategies and direct sales I helped the company go from 430K in sales in 2017 to 1.5M in 2018 and 3M+ in 2019.

My responsibilities included vision and direction of the company, creating internal operational procedures, overseeing all financials and accounting, creating marketing and sales strategies, and was responsible for developing strategic vendor and customer relations.

Responsible for: video direction, production and post-production, media preparation for Sunday productions, presentation series branding, graphic design, print design, general creative direction and live media production every Sunday morning for three different events (9:30am, 11am & 12:30pm).

Additional responsibilities included leadership development, volunteer and people management, recruiting and training video technicians, sound operators, lights operators, camera operators and stage directors.  Leadership, logistics and direction of a youth internship program with up to 17 youth.

Having founded the business at the end of 2012, Fat Fish Designs provided creative and marketing content creation services ranging from corporate branding to web design and video production. I publicly operated as Project Manager and Video Director, however, my responsibilities included: sales and marketing direction, internal strategy and operations, and account management. The business was dissolved to be reborn as an audio visual and production company named Fat Fish Media.

Responsible for creative direction of print, digital assets and live AV production for 5 major events every week. Other responsibilities included leadership development and technical training for our creative and production teams. Martin also developed and led a summer internship program for youth with 17 young people ranging between 12-18 years of age.

I also founded and operated FatFish, an audio visual production company, for 2+ years, before exiting it.
