I watch the watchers, I direct the learners. 

I am passionate about machine learning. My life's mission is to further the boundaries of what is possible with data science. I spend as much time as I can working with deep learning, NLP, and all forms of data science. I currently have a passion project I am managing where I am combining the power of genetic programming with deep learning to automate network design. I think there is a trend happening in data science where human expertise and creativity are being replaced by powerful new methods (i.e. deep learning, big data). 

I am most well known for my machine learning work with the data science community and with HireVue. With the community, I enjoy posting opinions on jobs and tutorials on ML methods. I also enjoy speaking and presenting to all types of audiences. 

I've enjoyed working across engineering, product, sales, marketing, and customer success. This wider POV has helped shape the way I think about innovation, from the innovation farm to the customer's table ;)

Data Scientist and Human Performance specialist with 20+ years connecting sports medicine, elite military performance, and applied data science. I work at the intersection of physiology, sensor technology, and operations—turning complex data from wearables, athlete management systems, blast exposure, and training environments into insights that improve readiness, accelerate R&D, and inform high‑consequence decisions.

For over a decade, I served as a Doctor of Physical Therapy and Director of Physical Medicine within Special Operations, leading integrated human performance programs and coordinating multidisciplinary care, testing, and return‑to‑duty decisions using platforms like Teamworks AMS. That experience—spanning assessment, rehabilitation, and optimization strategies—now informs my work as a Data Scientist supporting military human performance and exposure research.

I build end‑to‑end analytical workflows that ingest and integrate multimodal data (blast sensor outputs, physiological monitoring, training/event logs, and AMS data) using Python, SQL, PySpark, Azure Databricks, and Power BI. My focus includes data engineering, statistical modeling, and machine learning to quantify exposure, model risk, track performance trends, and support both field operations and R&D stakeholders.

With formal training in AI/ML and a clinical background in human performance, I understand physiology and testing protocols as well as APIs, data pipelines, and production‑ready dashboards. This lets me collaborate effectively with operators, clinicians, scientists, and engineering teams in environments such as defense labs, human performance programs, healthcare/analytics groups, and dual‑use technology companies. I am especially interested in roles where applied data science, human performance, defense innovation, and healthcare analytics intersect.
