I know this isn't very "business-y," but my dad has lung cancer.

Since it's almost Giving Tuesday, and I have a pretty big network on here, I figure... why not ask. 

My dad is an incredible person. He, at the age of 67, is still far more concerned with putting up our Christmas lights and tinkering in his garage than he is with "slowing down."

Unfortunately, due to his Stage 3 diagnosis, he's being forced to slow down.

To make matters worse, my mother, the de facto breadwinner, has been forced to stay at home with him through his five-day-a-week radiation and chemotherapy treatments.

Due to legislation here in Pennsylvania, she is not eligible to get paid as a caregiver because she's his spouse (which is another huge issue).

My father is the type of man who would give a stranger the shirt off his back. 

However, both he and the rest of my family are way too prideful and all-American to ask for help themselves. I don't have such qualms, so here I am, asking for your generous donations this holiday season.

This money will be used to carry my family through the next few grueling months, during which neither parent can work, and medical bills will be devastating.

Among other things, the funds will be used for: Gas to get to and from appointments, groceries to accommodate a healthy diet during chemotherapy, regular bills, and, of course, medical debt.

I wish I was in a position to help them myself. But, I'm not. 

It's tough times for everyone, and I understand that.

So even if you have just five dollars to give, I'd be eternally grateful.

(Maybe) Unpopular opinion: I lowkey like working on Sundays. 🫣 

It's the only day of the week where I KNOW, for a FACT, no one is going to ping me with a last-minute inquiry, request, or follow-up.

As someone with a hamster-level attention span... that's invaluable. 🤣

I am chronically online, and I hate it. 😵‍💫

Before I sleep most nights, I’m thinking:

→ Did I remember to post that?
→ Have I replied to that DM?
→ Let me look at my email ~one more time~

And when I wake up, I’m thinking:

→ I gotta check my analytics
→ Another video won’t hurt…
→ Let me look at my email ~one more time~

I think a lot of us can relate: it feels less and less like we’re using technology, and more and more like it’s using us.

WGSN is calling 2026 'The Great Exhaustion,’ and they couldn’t be more correct. 🥴

Everyone is eager to toss their phones in favor of analog media & good old connection. 

This is fantastic for a ton of reasons. But, it also gets you thinking:

If the future of social is NOT being on social… where does that leave my business?

Lucky for you, I dove down that rabbit hole all on my own. 🐇

I’ve been offered to work with Venture Capital clients on more than one occasion. 

I’ve rejected that work every time. 🤷‍♀️

For me, money is obviously a motivator. But, it’s never THE motivator.

When I measure my goals, I measure them in:

→ Freedom to spend time with my loved ones
→ Flexibility to build my own schedule
→ Fulfillment from doing a great job for great people

That third metric was one I discovered a little ways into my career.

I’m quite lucky - as a busy bee, I’m actually able to REJECT inbound opportunities. Not everyone has that luxury, and I of course had to work on quite a few “uninspiring” projects on my way to my current position. 

But, I have “purpose-driven” in my headline for a reason.

If you want to work with me, you have to care about SOMETHING besides money.

It can be a personal passion (no matter how unconventional), an under-supported cause or mission, a family member whose torch you’re carrying, or even something you saw as a kid that touched your heart and sparked your interest.

No matter how hard I try, I just can’t bring myself to care about growth for growth’s sake.

I’m not naive. This philosophy might mean I’ll never be a millionaire, 7-figure business owner. 

… I’m cool with that, though! We’ve all got priorities.

What are yours?

“If you’re not working on Sundays, you’re not serious.”

That’s an UNIRONIC (I checked) quote from a tech founder I saw while doing my standard LinkedIn doomscrolling yesterday. 🥴

Among other things, he was also quick to point out that there was nothing more “rewarding, fulfilling, or necessary” than building his AI platform.

Uh, yikes?!

This is obviously unhealthy on a personal level, but even worse, this rhetoric was used to make a broader statement:

“Ha-ha, I’m far better than you! Clearly you don’t care about YOUR job! 🤓”

I care about my job. I love my job. It makes me genuinely happy.

But here are 5 things that make me way happier:

→ Calling my mom and dad
→ Sitting on the sofa with my boyfriend and watching anime
→ Sharing a sweet treat and/or warm beverage with a good friend
→ Shutting my laptop midday because my kitten wants to play
→ Reading a good book while wrapped up in a cozy blanket

Sorry to say, but the list does go on. 🤷‍♀️

There’s a massive, beautiful world outside of our screens. One day, we won’t get to enjoy it anymore.

To each their own, of course. Perhaps you’d like your legacy to be an intangible, digital software.

I think my legacy will be found in the hearts of those I loved.

... Yes. And, if you were subscribed to that one, I transferred you right on over to the new digs.

I grew on LinkedIn 129% this year.

Not too freaking shabby, if you ask me!

I'm sitting at around 5,600 followers now, which means I started 2025 with roughly 2,400. 🤯 

It's funny, because I've been posting on this platform for THREE years.

So... what changed? 

→ I started getting SERIOUS 🤓 

For years, I was posting and ghosting at random. Pouring everything into my clients' pages while mine collected dust between posts. 

 I was systematizing their growth while winging my own!

This summer I went full-time into my business, which meant I could curate a schedule that was, well, stick-withable. (Notice the bump in May?)

→ I learned that engagement doesn't have to eat your life

My engagement rule of thumb: 10 minutes before posting, and 10 minutes after.

Is there some doom-scrolling mixed in there? ... Yes. But now it's not forced.

LinkedIn shouldn't feel like a second job! It should feel like you're building something for yourself.

→ I learned about "The Dip"

Seth Godin wrote about this in The Dip, AKA the frustrating period where you're consistent, working hard, and still not seeing the returns. Most people quit right there.

But the truth is, LinkedIn snowballs! ⛄ 

One opportunity leads to the next, every comment can turn into a bigger conversation, and one client often refers you to another!

None of it happens immediately, but all of it happens eventually.

So, if your LinkedIn is in a "dip" period right now, keep it up!

Show up for your own account the way you'd show up for anyone else.

The growth might surprise you. 💫

There are 3 archetypes of people who suck at posting:

(I’ve been each of them at one point or another)

→ The Paralyzed Perfectionist
→ The Over-Prepper
→ The Serial Rebrander

Interestingly, each type thinks their problem is unique. But once you know which camp you're in, the fix is actually pretty straightforward.

These different personas are the reason I spent YEARS posting on LinkedIn before gaining any serious traction. 🥴

I've seen carousel posts get 50,000 impressions. 

I've also seen them get 50.

Same platform, same format, WAY different results. 🧐 

And this is the part about LinkedIn "best practices" that makes me want to scream into a pillow:

They're all *technically* true... and they're all kind of useless.

Because when you see "carousels perform best," what they really mean is: on AVERAGE, across THOUSANDS of accounts we analyzed, carousels got more engagement.

That's great to use as a jumping-off point. 

But the one thing that actually matters is YOUR data. 

I've worked with clients who absolutely pop off with video content. I've worked with others who post videos and hear crickets. 

Some swear by text-only posts. Others can't imagine posting without an image.

They're all right. For THEIR accounts. 

The only way to figure out what works for YOU is to:

→ Pick one thing to test: Format, timing, topic structure, whatever. 
→ Give it 3-4 posts minimum: One post tells you nothing. 
→ Look at YOUR numbers: What happened? What's the pattern?
→ Keep what works: Ditch what doesn't! 

Then do it again!

The best practice is the one that actually works for you. And you won't know what that is until you test it. 🤷‍♀️

It's almost 2026, and I have one goal on my mind for the coming year:

Six figures. 👀 

In order to make this happen, I have a plan in mind to take my LinkedIn presence to the next level; and I want to share that plan with all of you. 

There's plenty of opportunity out there for everyone, so let's all work together to make next year the most prosperous one yet.

LinkedIn can be kind of f*cking scary! 🥴

This isn't any other social media platform: It's attached to your name, your reputation, your income.

One bad post and suddenly everyone at your company sees it. One cringe headline and a potential client judges you. (Or so you think!)

So you do what anyone would do: you prepare.

You watch YouTube videos, read LinkedIn growth articles, screenshot other people's profiles, and save 47 posts about "the perfect strategy."

Yeah, you might be learning ... But you're mostly stalling. 🫣

The problem with this advice, and why it feels paralyzing, is because it's contradictory:

→ "Post every day." "Only post when you have something to say."
→ "Use emojis to stand out." "Emojis look unprofessional."
→ "Optimize your headline for SEO." "Do NOT be generic."

Cool. So which one is it? 🙃

When boiled down, what you're waiting for is permission. You're waiting for someone to just look at YOUR profile and tell you: "This is fine. You're ready. You can start now."

That's what I'm doing next Friday.

I'm pulling up real profiles and telling you what's actually working, what's not, and what to fix first.

Because most of you don't need another framework. You need someone to tell you that you're overthinking it!

You already have most of what you need. You might be missing a step or two, but that shouldn't stop you from getting started.

Write every post like it's the first time your audience has ever seen you. 

(For some, maybe it actually is.) 👀 

Someone asked me about this yesterday. She'd been writing exclusively for her existing community, assuming everyone already knew her approach & general vibe.

And then she heard this advice about writing for first-time viewers and realized: most people seeing her posts probably have no idea who she is.

It's an interesting tension! 🤔 

Write too much for new people → your community feels forgotten/not harnessed

Write too much for your existing audience → new people feel like lost and won't bother fishing for details

So how do I actually handle this?

I use broader hooks that don't require backstory. But then I get into the details my community cares about in the body of the post.

A first-time viewer can follow the main idea, and my regulars get the depth and nuance they came for. 😌 

I give just enough context. Not so much that I'm over-explaining myself, but enough that someone scrolling won't be completely lost.

I accept that some posts are for my community, and that's fine. My bottom-of-funnel content isn't supposed to resonate with everyone. It's supposed to convert the right people.

TBH, LinkedIn's algorithm doesn't care about your intended audience. Your posts show up to random people constantly. 🤷‍♀️ 

Anddd whenever someone lands on your post (whether it's their first time seeing you or their hundredth) they shouldn't feel like they're missing critical information.

That doesn't mean dumbing everything down or losing your voice. It just means not making people work too hard to understand what you're saying.

Because realistically, most people aren't gonna work hard. They'll just scroll past. 🤣 

Your hook can be accessible, AND your insights can still be deep. It's a win-win situation. 

It's messy to pull off every single time, but messy is usually the way to success.
