With over 30 years of experience in the media industry, I am a podcast host and a media entrepreneur who is passionate about the future of work, leadership, and innovation. I have founded and led Menlo Creek Media, a company that helps leaders, marketers, and communications professionals navigate and leverage an AI-driven asynchronous world, by offering executive training for podcast hosts and guests, content creation and media library curation and amplification programs, and community development programs.

I also host two podcasts, Work 20XX and Turn the Lens, where I facilitate the spread of best practices, insights, learning, and wisdom on topics that matter to the modern workforce and society. I was blown away when I saw the slide earlier in Pete's keynote. Not enough parameters, the models crap out (a technical term), but push past 7 billion, and the magic happens. Improve on one, improve on all. Pete and the team at Generalist recently announced a 10 billion parameters plus foundational model.

So excited to share this conversation with Pete Florence, Co-Founder and CEO of Generalist. Generalist is another example of the latest round of startups around 'Embodied AI', AI that does things in the environment, among us. Pete has a deep research foundation, and we retraced some of the key moments in getting from the highly specialized world of industrial robots, to the 'every use case is a corner case' of interacting in the physical world outside a pen, to respond to any number of task demands and unforeseen environmental challenges standing between the present, and completing the assigned task.

The prepaid products have been successfully migrated from the existing legacy platform and delivered into service.

• Produced the Architecture for a new international banking platform focusing on the Foreign Currency products and financial instruments. The integration into the Kwibank core banking platform and any transitional stages undertaken where a key feature of the solution design. 

• Developed the Architecture for a new digital self-service overdraft product that uses online accounting applications (such as Xero) as a key source of customer data for real time credit decisions.

• Developed the Architecture for Kiwibank the next generation Credit Card statements enabling a simpler and clearer customer experience. Reducing the number of customer complaints a queries regarding their statements.

• Help define the strategy and roadmaps for the Kiwibank.  Documenting the current state footprint and producing a methodical approach to producing an effective and up-to-date digital environment.  Focusing on a roadmap to enable a path to a digital bank capability. Enabling customers to carry out their retail and commercial banking business entirely through digital mediums and devices.

Documenting the current state footprint and producing a systematic approach to produce an efficient and modern digital ICT environment.  Enabling the Business to have a competitive advantage through automation and a low cost to serve capability.

&#149; Produced the Architecture for Meridians Retail business transforming to a modern digital business that is mainly an online self-service experience.

&#149; Developed the Architecture for Meridians digital self-service credit card payments capability.

&#149; Developed the strategy for rationalising Meridians digital platforms into a single cloud based platform. Reducing the cost of ownership and development times enabling a faster time to market for Meridian products and services.

&#149; Produced the strategy and architecture for a digital content management system - deployed in the cloud. Allowing Meridian to publish its digital content without development, reducing cost and time for new content to be published.

&#149; Developed the strategy and architecture for Meridians “Smart Meter” program. Including the automation of the physical role out. Plus the implementation related products and the billing scenarios that leverage smart meter capabilities.

&#149; Produce the Architecture for Meridians Applicant Tracking System for the automation of the recruitment process integrating with SEEK, LinkedIn etc.

&#149; Produced the concept of maximise the re-use of existing core banking applications using digital integration methods to modernise the way in which they could be used, augmenting their functions with new digital services.
