START-UP ROLE - and a result of being "found" via networking! I was the HR Director of a multi-family, hybrid residential construction and property management entity supporting 75+ employees with projects/locations throughout TX, OK and beyond.
*Laid off in 4/20 (start of Covid), but appreciative to have been “found” for this role at an event by my (later) fantastic boss, and was my first full-time role post relo to TX from MI! A reminder of how we never know who we’ll meet, and when 😉

Human Resources Director

THIS is the role that started my CliftonStrengths(Finder) journey an hour after being let go from it 🤣 a co-worker used to refer to our role as a game of human chess, which sums it up to perfection! I navigated daily associate deployment (i.e. moving the chess pieces) and provided related workforce utilization analysis on automotive and non-automotive client teams for 100+ employees. Worked with finance and human resources on expense/engagement metrics and staffing/employee relations, respectively.
*I worked in this role with the intention/hope of it eventually leading back into one in traditional HR. While it was an excellent learning experience, and I met some terrific people, it wasn't a sustainable "fit," and I moved on after two years. With that said, the best part is my challenges in the role, being the inspiration for my storytelling in discovering Strengths at a networking event the same day as my last day at work!*

Financial Analyst/Talent Management Specialist

People are intrigued when I share I worked for the recognizable, delish brand! I re-established the regional role with Sara Lee Corporation (later Hillshire Brands via various acquisitions) in Taylor, MI; partnered with 200+ employees (non-union and various union locals, including the Teamsters - a’la Jimmy Hoffa) and business agents in multiple Sara Lee bread delivery and sales/retail locations throughout MI, IN and IL.
*Resigned amid re-org/management changes with nothing but heartfelt appreciation for my incredible team, some of whom I'm blessed to still keep in touch with years later*

Regional Human Resources Generalist

START-UP ROLE - and a quality example of the magic that happens when one role might not work out, but the company still sees you as value-added enough to create one! I developed and managed the pharmacy internship program for 180+ interns throughout the MI region, with opportunities to recruit in pharmacy schools, facilitate various training modules and engage with preceptors, leadership and pharmacy staff at multiple org levels.

*While I appreciated my incredibly dynamic boss and admin with whom I was fortunate to work, big-box retail wasn’t the best fit for me and resigned for a better opportunity to build a start-up role with CVS.

When asked which role I've "most enjoyed," this is it! I mean, when you get to travel, engage with corporate and store employees at multiple org levels, recruit on college campuses, and facilitate training for franchisees AND corporate staff, it doesn't get much better! Unless, of course, you get to frequently give away free Slurpee, hot dog and taquito coupons, as was the case 😄

I recruited corporate district managers, store managers and managed the hourly sales associate recruitment process and training initiatives for corporate employees and franchisees in a region encompassing 400+ stores throughout MI, IL, IN and New England.
*I resigned amid org changes, but after having one of the best - and learning/growth experiences - of my career and still keep in touch with some peeps almost 20 years later*
