🇦🇪 On UAE National Day, we celebrate vision.
But it is our leaders who will decide whether we reach it.

The UAE Vision 2030 and the Fifty Economic Plan are bold:

I passed my driving test on the first try… and then didn’t drive for 10 years. 🙈

Not because I couldn’t.
But because I didn’t feel ready.
​
At first, I didn’t need it. 
Then… I didn’t feel safe and confident. 
​
I took Uber. I asked my husband. I planned my life around where I couldn’t go.
​
Until I had to start driving my daughter to daycare 2+ years ago and I knew I didn’t want to keep outsourcing my independence.
​
That was the first push.
But back then, I didn’t fully commit.
I just learned one route: home → daycare → home.
​
But for 2025, I set a new goal.
And I approached it differently.
​
Not just hoping I’d “get used to it.”
But building a system that supported the version of me I wanted to become.
​
Here’s exactly how I rebuilt my confidence behind the wheel:
✅ I got support. I booked a few sessions with an instructor - not to start from zero but to feel safe again in the trickier spots.
✅ I focused on reps > results. My goal was to drive to 3 new places each month. I tracked every “new drive” in a spreadsheet and celebrated the wins.
✅ If we were driving somewhere in the city with my husband and we weren’t in a rush, I took the wheel.

And last Friday… I drove alone with my daughter on a 2-hour trip to my hometown. 😊

Here’s how to check what needs to be fixed:

1️⃣ Is there a simple checklist?
If you’re relying on memory, things will get missed.
A clear, step-by-step checklist prevents costly mistakes and keeps your delivery consistent.

2️⃣ Are standardized templates in place?
Email replies. DMs. Images.
Templates save you and your team time.

3️⃣ Are all your tools really necessary and connected?
Too many tools = confusion, duplicated work and tech headaches.
Simplify. 
Integrate.

4️⃣ Are all the steps really needed?
Sometimes the process works - it’s just too long.
Cut what’s not essential so you deliver faster and feel lighter.

5️⃣ Is the process documented clearly?
Think: written steps, links, screenshots - everything they need in one place.
Your team should be able to follow it without pinging you every 5 minutes.

6️⃣ Are you tracking what matters?
Every process needs a clear outcome.
If you’re not measuring success, how do you know it’s working?

7️⃣ Has your team (or client) given feedback?
Ask: Where do things get stuck? What causes errors?
Their input often reveals what’s invisible at first glance.

8️⃣ Is it ready for automation?
There are probably tasks you still do manually that could be automated.
Even small tweaks can save you hours each week.

9️⃣ Does each step have a clear owner, and is it the correct owner?
Confusion = delay.
Make sure every step has a name next to it and that it’s the right person for the job.
