Because when you choose to learn in your free time...

You’re building something no one can take away

That’s exactly how my “little” side hustle of posting on LinkedIn turned into a 6-fig business.

Allowing me to quit my dream tech job and replace my income in < 1 year.

Here’s how I approach learning something new:

1/ Get ridiculously clear on your learning goal

↳ What exactly am I trying to learn, and why does it matter right now?
↳ Write it down down: “I’m learning [X] so I can [Y] by [Z date].”

2/ Do a brutally honest skill audit

↳ Where am I truly starting from? Beginner? Intermediate?
↳ I rate myself on a 1–5 scale, then identify 1–2 focus areas for the week.

3/ Source high-quality content (not just what's trending)

↳ I follow 2–3 trusted experts who are 5 steps ahead (not 10).
↳ I choose one main format to learn from (podcast, YouTube, course, etc.).

4/ Build a non-negotiable learning routine

↳ I block 10–30 minutes daily on my calendar like it’s a real meeting.
↳ Write down key learnings every time + 1 action you can commit to.

5/ Create social accountability

↳ I tell a friend (or post publicly) what I’m working on.
↳ I set a tiny consequence if I fall off (like buying them lunch or sending $20).

If you’re not learning, you’re not growing.

It’s not meant to be easy.

It’s hard, uncomfortable, even painful at times.

↳ I lost my mom to cancer when I was 25.

I could’ve stayed angry but I chose to start over.

And by giving myself another ‘do over’:

✔️ I found the love of my life (I made the first move)

It’s never too late to rewrite your story.

And know what else?

Your environment matters more than you know.

People thrive when things are clear.

3. Do I align with the values of the company?

→ Do our shared beliefs and goals resonate?

4. Am I being valued and recognized for my work?

→ Do I feel appreciated and rewarded for my contributions?

5. Do I enjoy working with my team and my boss?

→ Are there positive relationships and support at work?

6. Am I being underutilized or overextended?

→ Is my workload balanced and fulfilling?

7. Am I feeling burnt out or stressed?

→ Is my mental and emotional health being affected?

8. Am I aligned with the company's direction and goals?

→ Do I see a clear path for my career growth within the organization?

Fun fact: I started my business 2 months after my daughter was born. 

And yesterday, we celebrated her 6th birthday. 

Looking back, it was the biggest leap in my career. 

But I knew deep down I needed to give this a real shot. 

Having Leah was a huge inspiration and motivation for me to build this with my whole heart and help more women win in corporate.

I wanted to create something I’d be proud of and could show Leah what’s possible. 

Fast forward almost 6 years later, and achieving the biggest year in my business, I’m forever grateful I made that decision. 

Each year, Leah’s birthday reminds me of the pivotal moment that started it all ❤️

In that spirit, I wanted to share a few things I told myself back then that helped me make the shift:

👉 Life’s too short to not play all out. No day is guaranteed and you owe it to yourself to do what you know you’re capable of, even if it feels scary. 

👉 Connect so deeply to your WHY that it builds a next level of self-discipline, rigor and accountability, especially through more difficult chapters.

👉 If you know you can help others with your expertise in a bigger capacity, why not find a way to do that? It can lead you to the most rewarding work. 

👉 You can always revert back, but you don’t always have the chance to bet on yourself. When that urge comes, lean into it, don’t fight it. 

👉 When you look ahead at your retirement, what would you have hoped to accomplish? If your current path is not leading you there, let this be your sign to make a change towards it now. 

Parenthood changes you. 
Motherhood changes you. 
Entrepreneurship changes you. 

But each chapter has led me here, and I wouldn’t trade it for the world. 

I’m incredibly grateful for the work I get to do and for the amazing women my team and I coach daily to bring out their best 👏

How to look good in front of your C-level execs

(Steal my 10-part playbook) 👇

1. Start with the conclusion, not the background
↳ Executives need to understand the key insight immediately. Lead with that first. 

2. Frame updates around decisions and outcomes
↳ Position your message around the key decision to be made, associated risks, and impact.

3. Use the Pyramid Principle in meetings
↳ Start with with your main point or recommendation.
↳ Provide 2-3 high-impact data points that validate your argument. 
↳Offer deeper details only if needed.

4. Eliminate filler words that dilute your message
↳Unnecessary words make you sound less confident and lessen your impact.

5. Control your pacing
↳Pause for emphasis after key points, vary your tone, and breathe between thoughts.

6. Be direct and decisive
↳Executives want clear recommendations and strong decision-making.

7. Integrate hot topics and what’s in it for them

From stalled at Senior Manager to Director in 12 weeks.

This is how my client Tatjana did it 👇

When we first started together, she was feeling stuck on how to secure her Director level role without already having people management experience.

She was also nervous about networking and didn’t know how to build the right support system in her company to get ahead faster.

There were 5 key levers we focused on together:

1. Building her confidence

💫 Action step: We worked through her self-doubt and limiting beliefs that helped her recognize her value and how to build her perceived readiness for Director-level positions.

2. Activating a stronger internal support system

💫 Action step: We outlined key stakeholders and decision-makers in her company for strategic 1:1 conversations and better exposure moments that gave her the recognition she was lacking.

8 communication tips to nail your interviews:

(and that helped the women I coach land $150K-$450K+ roles confidently)

1. Communicate your distinct value:
↳ Ask yourself “what wouldn’t have happened if I wasn’t there?”
↳ Use that to distinguish between your “I” and “we” statements.

Example: “In leading X project, I oversaw the strategy mapping by collaborating closely with our 4 core international teams. I then supported my team who implemented X. In the end, we delivered the strongest campaign of the year, which led to 1 off-season promotion for my team.”

2. Network with active employees:
↳ Gain intel on the company’s current priorities, focus areas and goals.
↳ Integrate these keywords in your interview answers.

Example networking questions to ask:
- “What do you appreciate most about working here?”
- “What’s the biggest challenge on the team right now?”
- “What advice would you have for someone coming into the team?”

3. Prepare impactful stories that reinforce your fit for this role:
↳ Structure your stories in 3 parts: what you did, how you did it & the result it brought.
↳ Be as quantitative as possible in the results you share.

4. Tie your answers back to the needs of this role:
↳ It helps remove hesitations/doubts in your interviewers’ minds.

Example: “I understand the importance of strong team dynamics required for the role to ensure project success. I’m confident that my ability to foster a positive team environment, overcome conflict and navigate team challenges align well with that."

5. Group your answers by core competency of the role:
↳ Create a cheat sheet where you have them laid out to easily reference.

Example groupings: 
- Technical skill proficiency
- Collaboration / stakeholder management
- Leadership / team management
- Challenges / obstacles / conflict

6. Practice your answers out loud:
↳ This helps smooth out your delivery for the moment of truth.
↳ Practice in front of the mirror to control your body language.

Pro tip: Record yourself and watch it back to assess what you want to keep & stop doing.

7. Keep it conversational:
↳ Ask questions throughout the interview, not just at the end.
↳ Ask questions that allow the interviewers to see you in the company, short and long term.

Examples questions:
- What are 3 traits that distinguish your most successful leaders?
- What specific KPIs are used most to measure success in this role?
- What’s the biggest challenge you foresee the person in this role facing this year?

8. Align your values with those of the company:
↳ It helps your interviewers see you’re a talent worth investing in.
↳ It drives connection to what the company stands for and reinforces your fit.

“I want to make sure I’m driving the right kind of value for where the business is heading, not just putting out fires. Can we build a plan together to support me better to solidify that next level?”

👉 Flip the moment: Identify where your reliability is being exploited.

Ask yourself:

→ What tasks am I too good at that others avoid?
→ Where am I saying yes out of guilt, not growth?
→ What would break if I stepped away?

That’s where you’re over-leveraged.

Use this to start handing off, delegating, or upskilling others, even if it’s uncomfortable.

Remember, being irreplaceable in your role is the fastest way to be overlooked for your next one.
