Senior Associate, Business Development and Strategic Product Partnerships

I work in Business Development for LinkedIn. What does that mean? Well, I spend my days doing one of three things:

1.) Working with our legal team to execute and negotiate deals with companies in LinkedIn's ecosystem
2.) Working with engineering and product teams to build partnerships and technical integrations with those companies
3.) Connecting with internal stakeholders in product, engineering, marketing, and sales to drive the activation of these partnerships

I honestly love my job. I get to speak to startup founders and big tech co execs. I get to help shape the strategy for our business and our products. And most importantly, I get to meet people that will be in my personal and professional network for the rest of my life.

The skills I'm developing will last a lifetime. The relationships I'm developing will shape my life.

Associate, Business Development and Strategic Product Partnerships

I cold-called literally 50-100 people every day in this role. I was shocked that this practice still existed in a large tech company. But it taught me resilience, persistence, and how to connect with literally anyone in 30 seconds. I'm appreciative of this opportunity to get me started in my career and learn how to be a professional.

Sales Development

Someone who had done this program before me described it as "adult summer camp". Could not agree more. The BLP program was wonderful. It was the entry into big tech that I needed. It has completely changed my personal and professional life. The people I met in the program have become some of my best friends. 

For work, they threw us right into the fire. We spent 3 months on our customer service team learning how to support angry people paying tons of money for LinkedIn products. It helped me understand how we make money, why customers buy our products, and why they do not. I struggled a lot in this role. I think it was because I didn't focus enough on onboarding, and was excited about my "next play". This was a good lesson for me; you have to succeed in the role you're in before looking for the next one. 

We then went into recruiting. I was on our Data Science recruiting team. I had no idea what I was talking about but learned how to sell candidates on LinkedIn. I learned that sometimes our hiring practices favour prestige (big company, great school, etc) which made me passionate about supporting those from underrepresented backgrounds. 

Along with these two official "rotations", I built a lot of great relationships with folks that have become my mentors. I helped to sell our learning product (LinkedIn Learning) to my alma mater. I got to work on a proposal to sell LinkedIn to the Canadian government. And I started working on side projects on the Business Development team, which led to a full-time role about a year later. 

I learned it takes a lot of patience to get what you want. I learned that building authentic relationships with professionals is key. I learned that people want to help if you ask for it.

Overall BLP was an amazing experience. I learned a ton and would recommend anyone else to do the same to get their feet wet within the tech industry, specifically for new grads.

•	Collaborated with 11 groups on and off campus to help spur entrepreneurial culture by hosting workshops, planning events, creating a cohort system to support ventures with resources, talent, and capital

•	Raised $9800 for operational expenses for the Foodbank, exceeding the target goal by $7800
•	Managed a team of 13 volunteers to increase to manage the 240% increase in client usage of the Foodbank

My journey and leadership in the tech industry have been an exhilarating adventure driven by my passion for Programming, Web Development, and Server Management. 2011 - Bangladesh Tech to Glossy IT: The following year, in 2011, I founded Bangladesh Tech, a developer team that rapidly gained popularity. Subsequently, we rebranded the company as Glossy IT to reflect our evolving vision and capabilities better.

2013 - HostClad: In 2013, I ventured into the web hosting sector by establishing HostClad, which operates as a sister concern of Glossy IT.

2014 - Recognition and Rebranding: In this pivotal year, I received the prestigious BASIS Outsourcing Award - 2014 for my significant contributions to the tech industry. My strong background in web development and diverse technical skills have enabled me to lead my companies while positively impacting the tech industry.

2017 - Digital Content Creation: Beyond my business ventures, I explored the world of digital content creation in 2017. I embarked on creating engaging videos for YouTube and Facebook, which have garnered millions of followers.

2020 - Dhorony Limited: My entrepreneurial spirit led me to establish Dhorony Limited in 2020, a joint venture with a friend who imported and supplied various products.

2022 - Expanding Horizons: In 2022, I relocated the headquarters of Glossy IT to Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh. This strategic move aims to expand my business while the Meherpur office continues to operate as a branch office.
