That internal struggle led me to leave corporate safety and build two startups in seven years - eventually exiting basix.ai, a sales automation platform backed by Forum Ventures. That experience taught me something critical: the gap between theory and execution is where most scaling companies die.

Now I bridge three worlds:

→ Entrepreneurial experience (built and exited SaaS company)  
→ Technical automation expertise (hands-on with Clay, Make.com, n8n, HubSpot)

One of the simplest career filters I’ve ever seen:

At every job, you should either learn or earn.

Either is fine.
Both are best.
If it’s neither, leave.

It sounds obvious.

But most professionals stay far too long in roles that do neither.

They’re not learning new skills.
They’re not expanding their thinking.
They’re not meaningfully increasing their income.

They’re just… maintaining.

And maintenance is expensive.

Over the years coaching senior leaders and high-performing professionals across Hong Kong and Singapore, I’ve seen this pattern clearly:

Early in your career, optimise for learning.

Late in your career, optimise for earning.

At every stage, avoid stagnation.

The danger isn’t a tough boss.
It isn’t long hours.
It isn’t pressure.

The real danger is comfort without growth.

If your current role stretches your capabilities, you’re being paid in skill.

If it funds your long-term goals meaningfully, you’re being paid in leverage.

But if it does neither, you’re slowly trading time for inertia.

And time is the one asset you can’t compound once it’s gone.
