Amazon announced "Ads Agent" today at unBoxed 2025.

And no, it’s not another AI chatbot that writes "catchy" ad copy.

Your media plan is a 200-line Excel file.

Your job? 
Manually translate it into 15 campaigns & 60 ad groups in Amazon DSP.

Click. Click. Copy. Paste.

It's tedious, it's slow, and you will make a mistake.

That entire workflow just died with this announcement

It’s an AI specialist that does the actual grunt work.

You just give it the media plan. 
It builds the entire campaign structure for you. 
(Like in the screenshot).

You tell it: 
“Pause all campaigns with ROAS under 2.” 
It does it.

You tell it:

But on the bright side?

Amazon just started mailing $51 checks to 35 million people.
And most sellers are scrolling past this story.
That's a mistake.

Here's what actually happened:

The FTC proved Amazon used "dark patterns" to trick people into Prime subscriptions.

Buttons designed to confuse. 
Cancellation flows built to frustrate. 
Internal docs calling it "an unspoken cancer."

Amazon paid $2.5 billion to make it go away.

But here's what matters for anyone selling on the platform:

This isn't just a consumer protection story.
⤷ It's a signal.

Amazon's entire business model depends on friction working in their favor.
→ Not yours.

The same dark patterns that trapped consumers into Prime?
They exist in Seller Central too.

❏ Fee structures you can't fully understand. 
❏ Advertising dashboards designed to make you spend more. 
❏ Account health metrics that change without warning.

Amazon optimizes for Amazon.

Always has.

The sellers who thrive?
They stop expecting the platform to be fair & start treating it like the landlord it is.

✓ Use it. 
✓ Profit from it. 
✓ Build owned channels alongside it.

Because $51 per customer is what it costs Amazon when they get caught.

The question is: what's it costing you when they don't?

And it connects to Asana, Salesforce, Intuit Mailchimp and a few more tools. I am hoping they launch more soon.

But this is very slick.

Just think of what you could automate inside your Google workspace!

I cannot believe I am saying this.

But I think I am switching back to Google Chrome.

Let me explain.

I have used Safari from Apple.
I have used Atlas from OpenAI.
I have used Comet from Perplexity.
I have used Arc from The Browser Company.
I have used Dia also from The Browser Company.

(My favorite of all those has been Comet by far.)

I have historically stayed away from Chrome because it is always so bloated feeling and a massive RAM hog - and just didn't have as many cool features.

Safari?
⤷ It is native because I have all Apple stuff. So that was cool.

Atlas?
⤷ Not a huge fan. Seems very slow to me & I don't use ChatGPT much.

Comet?
⤷ Agentic AI browsing and I LOVE Perplexity search.

Arc?
⤷ This was the KING for me - until the devs abandoned it.

Dia?
⤷ Feels like Chrome and it's snappy to use - but the AI feels forced.    

Let's get back to Chrome for a second.

I am TRIPLING down on the AI that Google is doing.
⤷ Because it is all really, really good.

→ I replaced my Claude usage with Gemini 2.5 Pro.
→ Nano Banana is basically untouchable IMHO.
→ AI Studio slaps really hard to test stuff.
→ VEO 3.1 is a full blown video monster.
→ Now Google launched Gemini 3.     

So why Chrome?
⤷ Because Chrome now has Gemini built inside of it.

Dia → worthless to me now.
Comet → still wins on agentic AI but I use Gemini more.

I really cannot believe I am saying this - again - but Chrome is really hitting hard for me right now with all of these updates.

Let's see if I am ready to hit the "Switch to your default browser" button.

Still scared of doing a post-edit on Amazon?

Stop it.

Take a look at this product.
→ It is 9" x 11.5"
→ That is clear on the hero image.

But on the actual product itself?
⤷ Not there, folks.

$15 Billion. That’s not pocket change. Even for Amazon.

That’s what they just raised in their first bond sale since 2022.

Most people see this headline and scroll past. 
"Just big tech moving money around," right?
⤷ Wrong.

If you’re a brand selling on Amazon, you need to look closer.

Here is what’s actually happening behind the curtain:

Amazon isn't just raising cash to pad the balance sheet. They are joining the "AI Arms Race" alongside Meta ($30B) and Alphabet ($25B).

They are loading the war chest to fund a massive spike in CapEx (expected to hit ~$125B this year).

But look at where that money is going.
→ Not more warehouses. 
→ Not more blue vans. 
→ Compute.

Specifically, data centers & the infrastructure to support their new 7-year deal to be the backbone for OpenAI.

You might be thinking:
"Okay, cool, Amazon loves AI. How does that help me sell more shampoo?"

It signals a fundamental shift in the platform's DNA.

Amazon is betting the house that the future of shopping isn’t "Search and Scroll." It’s "Ask and Answer."

They are re-plumbing the entire machine to support generative AI (Rufus, Cosmo, and the backend tools we haven't seen yet).

If Amazon is spending $125B to change how the platform thinks - you probably shouldn't be using a strategy from 2019 to sell on it.

1. SEO is changing. Keywords are becoming less important than semantic context. The AI needs to "understand" your product, not just index it.

2. The "moat" is getting wider. Amazon is making it prohibitively expensive for any other marketplace to compete on tech infrastructure.

3. Ad Spend Efficiency. With this much compute power, expect ad targeting to get scary good - or for CPCs to rise as they try to recoup that $15B interest.

Amazon is pivoting from being a store to being an intelligence engine.
⤷ They just put $15,000,000,000 on the table to prove it.

Don't be the brand still trying to hack the algorithm with keyword stuffing while Amazon is rebuilding the robot entirely.

Adapt or get buried.

P.S. Would you bet against a company investing $125B a year in its own future? 

I wouldn't.

If you are not on top of your brand, you will fail.

And proper seasonal merchandising? This is a win.

If you're spending $30K monthly on Amazon ads but running fewer than 10 campaigns, you're burning cash faster than a warehouse fire.

Campaign structure isn't optional at scale.

It's the difference between controlling your ad spend and letting the algorithm control it for you.

Most sellers consolidate everything into a few massive campaigns and wonder why their ACOS looks like a crime scene.

The problem is keyword cannibalization and zero bid control.

Think of campaign structure like surgical precision versus a sledgehammer.

One massive campaign with 500 keywords means you can't isolate what's working from what's bleeding budget.

Fifty campaigns with 10 keywords each means you control every dollar.

For a $30K monthly ad spend, you should be running 30-40 campaigns minimum.

Advanced accounts with single keyword campaigns and SEO-focused structures run 70-100 campaigns.

Each ASIN should have at least five core campaigns:

Auto, broad/phrase, category targeting, exact keyword, and exact ASIN.
This isn't overcomplicated.

It's strategic.

Smart bid management requires smart campaign architecture.

Set max CPC ceilings based on ad group performance, not gut feelings.

And stop pausing keywords after one click with no sale.

That keyword might be your next top converter once it gets enough data.

Group low-data keywords under one ad group to track aggregate performance before making decisions.

I've seen sellers pause keywords that would have converted at 15% ACOS because they made judgments at 2 clicks instead of 20.

Campaign structure at scale isn't busywork.

It's how you turn a $30K monthly budget into controlled, profitable growth instead of expensive guesswork.

The brands still wondering why PPC "doesn't work" are usually the ones treating campaign organization like an afterthought.
