In security or otherwise, trends are temporary. Stick to fundamentals.

I don't know how many people realize how massive cybersecurity has become. Let this sink in: 

> Google's biggest ever acquisition is a security company (Wiz). 
> ServiceNow's biggest ever acquisition is a security company (Armis).
> Cisco's biggest ever acquisition is a security company (sure, not pure-play but cyber is a huge part of their business) (Splunk).
> Mastercard’s second-largest acquisition is also a security company (Recorded Future).

This is just one angle. Then look at all the funding rounds. I have friends in other industries that have never heard of a seed round being 10M-20M-30M-50M with no product and no revenue, but in cyber that's a norm. 

Lastly, remember that the "wisdom" that 9 out of 10 startups fail is simply not true in cybersecurity. Or rather let me put it this way: while in cyber, successes rarely look like big IPOs, failing doesn't always mean shutting down. Most successful (!) exits are somewhere in the range of $75M - 300M (more or less). The industry doesn’t follow the classic script where anything short of a unicorn is written off as a loss: many security startups never go public or reach massive scale, yet still solve real problems, build real products, serve real customers, and make their teams and investors a lot of money. 

Security is not slowing down, that's for sure.
