Not every weekend is for switching off.
Some weekends are for reflecting on what truly matters.
This weekend, I am stepping away from technical reading and choosing books that speak to the heart of a nation I deeply admire: the UAE.

At a time when many around the world are watching the region with concern, I find myself drawn not to headlines, but to perspective, leadership, and legacy.
My first pick is a book titled Reflections on Happiness & Positivity by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, The Vice President  of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. Even before opening the first page, I was deeply moved by the words on the back cover, where His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of the UAE, describes it as “one of the most beautiful books I have ever read.”

That single sentence says so much.

It speaks to the depth of the book.
It speaks to the values behind it.
And it speaks to the spirit of leadership that has helped shape this nation.

My second pick is titled "With United Strength", published by the Emirates Center for Strategic Studies and Research, a profound reflection on a progressive nation, its remarkable achievements, and the far-sighted vision of His Highness Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, whose legacy continues to inspire generations and shape the soul of the UAE.

This weekend’s reading feels different.

It is not just about books.
It is about gratitude.
It is about reflection.
It is about recognising the strength, wisdom, and vision that make this country what it is.

My sincere gratitude to the UAE leadership for building a nation that stands as a global example of resilience, ambition, tolerance, and hope.

My deepest respect and appreciation to the military and law enforcement for their courage, discipline, professionalism, and sacrifice. Their silent service and constant readiness protect not only infrastructure and borders, but also the peace of mind of everyone who calls this country home.

And to my colleagues, friends, and partners around the world:
Please know that we are safe.
We are secure.
And we are in the hands of remarkable leadership.

Output Vs Ownership.
Every milestone in human evolution carried a fear about jobs.
The Agricultural Age feared mechanisation.
The Industrial Age feared machines would take labor.
The Internet Age feared outsourcing would take opportunity.
Now the AI Age the conversation everywhere sounds the same.
“What happens to our jobs in an AI world?”
But the real change is deeper than job loss.
AI is not replacing people.
It is replacing predictable work.

Anything that can be reduced to a repeatable process, a checklist, a pattern, or a rule…will eventually be automated.
Not because companies want to eliminate workers but cannot ignore changing realities.

For years, many roles quietly evolved into process execution.
report generation, ticket handling, documentation drafting, routine analysis, scripted customer interaction.
Some jobs will disappear; But historically, technology has never eliminated human work; it has eliminated work that does not require a human mind.
The real dividing line of the future job market will not only be technical skill.
It will be ownership of consequences.
AI can generate a response to a customer complaint.
Only a human can rebuild a damaged relationship.
AI can detect a cyberattack.
Only a human leader decides whether to disclose a breach and accept accountability.

Previously, value came from knowing information.
Today, AI knows more information than any individual ever can.
So value shifts to something else; the ability to interpret, decide, reassure, and take responsibility when outcomes matter.
