Winter has a way of testing my energy. And my optimism.

But. That's not me! So while many have the January blues and hate life because they're cutting sugar and shoveling snow every morning... I’m leaning into whatever fills my cup:

☕  A change of scenery - lucky here
🏃‍♀️‍➡️  Movement, even when it’s dark and cold
🫶 Good colleagues - also lucky here 
👀 And planning vacations like it’s a personality trait

The days may be dark (especially in Denmark - obviously not pictured here), but they don’t have to feel empty. What little things are getting you through winter right now? ❄️

How do you decide what experiences to take with you into new roles and which ones to let die...

Funny how some things in the moment can seem like overkill or simply taken for granted and years later you find yourself saying "you know, we should really...."

Things I've learned both the hard way but also just over time and continue to take with me:

As a leader I am only as strong as my team. 
👉 Enable them, then the magic happens. 

Once at scale, retention over acquisition is always the better bet. 
👉  New logo obsession is a thing. But it's not THE thing. Remind everyone (yes everyone in the org) of this, often. 

Hearing from ICs in the organization consistently is more valuable (and rewarding) than hearing from leadership. 
👉 They are the real pulse of the business. 

Overcommunication is key but an art. 
👉 Find ways to help everyone absorb information the way they do best - think multiple mediums and less at once but more often. 

Transparency builds trust, full stop. 
👉 Teams and orgs with high levels of trust perform better. 

Reflecting on failures matters as much as celebrating successes.
👉 But also, remember to celebrate successes.

What would you add?

Positioning. The most important foundation of how to sell. But often mistaken for taglines, mission statements, or simple website copy.

How do you work with positioning so that it 'sticks'? Do you use a message house? Narrative framework? Both? Others?

Anyone have a killer example of how they've enabled positioning to stick and care to share? 🌟
