I’m a conversion designer. 
Meaning...I design funnels and websites that turn attention into revenue and hold up over time, without gimmicks, fake urgency, or doing weird things to people to get clicks.

I’ve been in the conversion space for almost five years, mostly working with creators and educators who already have attention, content that performs, and offers that sell.

The issue here isn’t demand.
It’s that the funnel or website feels like a campaign, not an asset.

I have a BSc in Neuroscience & Biochemistry, and an MSc in Biomedical Science.
Which mostly means I think a lot about how people actually make decisions, and the small things that really matter.

You know that phase where things don’t fall apart…
They just stop working the way they used to?

You’re still doing the work.
But momentum dips.
And the gaps you could once ignore start showing up.

That was my 2025.

From the outside, things probably looked fine.
Behind the scenes, my business dipped, luck ran out, and I was renegotiating my Adobe subscription. 

Safe to say, it was a very humbling experience.

I’d had early success.
Great clients. Real results.
The digital nomad highlight reel.

And for a while, luck and perfect timing covered a lot.

Until it didn’t.

What no one really talks about is the middle.
Not the grind at the start.
Not the payoff at the end.

The part where things slow down and the blind spots you’ve been ignoring catch up with you... fast.

Looking back, I had skipped a level.
The one where you actually learn to market yourself and trust your decisions.

So when momentum dipped, I started swaying.
One strategy, then the next.
Listening to everyone.
Trying to stay palatable, trying not to ‘miss anything’.

Nothing compounded.
Because nothing was built to.

So I unplugged for a month.
And gave myself space to think instead of react.
To reflect back on the year as a whole.
To pull my head out of the social feeds of 'this is how you scale your business overnight'.

In the process, I finished my site.
(The thing most business coaches tell you not to focus on)

But during my reflection, what became crystal clear was this:
Self-trust isn’t a mindset thing.
It’s a business strategy.

So if you need to rebuild your site to fully trust that your lead gen strategy will work better, do it.

If you value shaping perception in the right way, do it.

Confidence in this game is a big player.

I’m back in build mode now.
With that sweet early-business energy.
But this time with direction, intention, and a much higher bar for quality.

This was an uncomfortable share.
But if you’re coming off an all-time high into a very humbling dip, you’re not broken.

You’ve probably just outgrown your current system.

And that’s fixable.

I missed out on a great opportunity because I used the wrong definition of a skill.

A couple of months back, I was chatting with a well-known founder about taking over their funnels.

I’d already spoken with their team.
Shared my work.
Walked through how I think about design and CRO.

Then came the call with the founder.
Good convo. Great guy.

Then he asked:
“What leadership experience do you have?”

My brain immediately went to managing big teams.
In that sense… basically none.

A few days later, the follow-up email came through:
“We went with the other person because of their leadership experience.”

Fair enough…

So naturally, I spiralled and started Googling
“how to improve leadership skills”
like it was a hard skill I could just… download.

And then it clicked.

I wasn’t missing the skill.
I was using the wrong definition of it.

I thought leadership meant managing people.
What it actually meant was ownership, decision-making, clarity, and direction.

Same word.
Completely different meaning.

And this is where it stops being about me.

Because this is exactly what I see happening in the info product space.

So many creators are banging their heads against the wall trying to make people “get” what they do.

Not because the work isn’t good.
But because they’re using surface-level language that doesn’t shape the right perception.

So people skim.
They don’t fully get it.
And they move on.

Not because they don’t want the result.
But because the value never really lands.

If you don’t define your work clearly, your audience will do it for you.
And they’ll default to the most generic interpretation.

That’s how demand leaks.

I’ve had to fix this in my own work too.

Funnels = spammy tech bro energy.
Web design = pretty but doesn’t convert.

Neither explained what I actually do.

Same with a breathwork coach I worked with.
Balancing science, health, somatics, trauma work, and spirituality without sounding vague took real precision.

But once the definition clicks, everything shifts.

People pay attention.
They understand the transformation.
They move closer instead of scrolling past.

My takeaway for the industry?

Most offers don’t fail because they’re bad.
They fail because they’re poorly defined.

And clarity isn’t fluff.
It’s leverage

"I can't design this. It's not going to increase conversions either way..."
This is what I sent my client this week.

This week, I got started on a redesign for a page I had designed 3 years ago for one of my long-term clients.

The page wasn't awful.
It was better than the v1 template the client came to me with all those years ago...

But 3 years is a long time.
My skillset has evolved.
Even looking back at some designs I did last year, there's a lot I would change.

The issue with this page is that the copy was weak.
The state of the customer wasn't mirrored effectively.
The headlines didn't have any weight.
The value of the offer wasn't put forward.

There wasn't enough 'meat' to amplify with design.

That's when I sent the message.

So what am I gonna do this weekend?
Revamp the copy ofc.

Otherwise, the redesign will be just another coat of paint on a weak foundation.

It might look a bit better, but the cracks and bumps will still be there.

My prediction for 2026:
personality will be a huge conversion lever.

Not more tactics.
Not another framework.

Personality.

Everything kind of looks the same now…
Offers are similar, and everyone has proof.

It's kinda easy to see if you'll get results.
So people decide based on something else.

Do I trust this person?
Do I get how they think?
Would I actually enjoy working with them?

That’s personality.

And it shows up in more than just words…

It’s in how information is laid out.
What you choose to explain vs what you leave out.
How much room you give people to poke around before asking them to decide.

Some brands need long explanations.
Some lean educational.
Some convert better when they’re minimal, playful, or a bit sharp.

There isn’t one “correct” structure.
There’s alignment.

Which is also why I redesigned my site…

Not to make it prettier.
But to let 'me' show through a bit more.

My brain’s a little chaotic.
Always doodling. Jumping between ideas. Building random templates, side projects, UI/UX experiments.
ADHD? Maybe. 
Productive? Somehow, yes.

So instead of forcing everything into a rigid landing page, I leaned into it.

I added the doodles...
I added a playground page…
Shared templates I’ve built…
Side projects, case studies, experiments.

For my work, the site acts more like a filter than a funnel.
Most clients want to see how my brain works before we talk.

And honestly, the best ones usually click on a personality level, too.
They also tend to get the best results.

Would I do this for every page?
Probably not.

But for creators and education brands, personality is part of the product.
The site should reflect that.

The new site is live.
There’s more I want to do, but this year I’m choosing momentum over perfection…

In 2026, personality won’t be a nice-to-have.
It’ll be one of the things that actually converts.

New sales page shipped this week.
A few notes on optimisation if you sell anything education-based 👇

I’ve been designing for English With Lucy for around 3 years now, and this C2 course is one of her signature 12-week programmes.

And when I say there’s a lot of care in these courses, I mean it.
The content, exercises, and extra materials are genuinely thought through. Nothing feels rushed or thrown together.

We have been moving away from ClickFunnels and built the page in Elementor, which gave us way more flexibility in how we display information and guide attention.

As you can see, it’s a long sales page.
The copy doc was even longer.

So the goal wasn’t to shorten the offer.
It was to make it easier to read and easier to decide.

A few things we focused on:

→ Some sections were trimmed and turned into illustrations or graphics. They often communicate the point faster than more text.

→ Some content moved into accordions and dropdowns. Important information stays accessible without turning the page into an endless scroll.

→ You’ll also notice the section colours change quite a bit. That’s intentional. With a lot of copy and cold traffic coming in, visual shifts help people feel like they’re moving forward instead of stuck in one long wall of text.

→ We also added subtle interactions like the timeline and the blue speech bubbles. Those are there to draw attention to moments where the reader is likely asking themselves questions or hesitating.

→ One small but interesting change this time was the offer stack layout.
We brought the price and CTA closer to the section headings instead of burying them at the bottom of long bullet lists.

Given this audience is more price-sensitive and thoughtful, it’ll be interesting to see how that impacts behaviour.

This was a fast turnaround page, and with more time I’d love to explore the interaction layer even further. But the foundation now feels solid.

Long sales pages aren’t the issue.
Poor hierarchy, weak signalling, and unreadable layouts are.

And if you ever find yourself hesitating to send people to your site, that’s usually not imposter syndrome. It’s a sign the system underneath needs work.

If you want to increase conversions, sometimes the best thing to do is to break the rules.

Go outside the frameworks.

Be different.

Most CRO experts and marketing bros will tell you to NOT go all in on design, to ignore animations and interactions…

But often times that’s just the thing that makes people pay attention, lean in and become customers.

And besides if you really do preach quality and excellence, why not show it not just talk about it?

Just a little something for you to consider on this fine Friday.

Before you try to fix anything in your business…
pause. Seriously.

Most people don’t have an execution problem.
They have an ideation problem.

The second something feels off, the instinct is to do.

Change the copy.
Redesign the page.
Build a new funnel and hope for the best.

Very little thinking in between.
Relatable.

Last year, during my UI/UX bootcamp, we were working on improving Slack’s Huddle feature.

And no, we didn’t jump straight into Figma.

The first part was uncomfortable.
We had to sit with the problem longer than we wanted to.

Where does the user hesitate?
What feels clunky or unclear?
What moment introduces friction?

Only once we had a solid problem hypothesis were we allowed to ideate.

That’s where Crazy 8s came in.

Eight ideas. Eight minutes. One problem.

Not to find the “right” answer.
Mostly to stop getting emotionally attached to the first one.

Because this is the bit that gets overlooked.

People don’t get stuck because they have no ideas.
They get stuck because they latch onto one too early and then defend it with their life.

Early attachment = tunnel vision.
Tunnel vision = rework.

Crazy 8s fixes that by forcing speed.
Timer on. Pen down. No judging.

The sketches aren’t meant to be good.
They’re meant to exist.

Sometimes they reveal a solution.
Sometimes they reveal you’ve been solving the wrong problem the whole time.
Also useful.

And this applies far beyond product design.

Landing pages.
Funnels.
Checkout flows.

When things dip, the question usually isn’t
“what should I build next?”

It’s
“what am I actually trying to fix?”

Traffic?
Understanding?
Trust?
Friction?

Very different problems. Very different fixes.

This is how I approach conversion work now.

Define the problem properly.
Ideate without attachment.
Then build with confidence.

Most issues downstream start upstream.
Solve the right thing first and everything else gets a lot less dramatic.

2 types of optimisation you NEED to know if you want better results.
(Most founders don’t know the difference…)

Unfortunately, this isn’t a productivity or biohacking post.
With 50 tabs open and a twitch in my eye… I’m not qualified 😅

I’m talking about your sales funnel.

The part where someone has drooled over your content and is deciding whether to take the next step.

Clients tell me they want things “optimised” and “high converting”.
Cool.

Then I ask:
“What are we optimising, specifically?”

And that’s where we hit silence...

Because most people don’t actually know.
And unfortunately… a lot of web designers don’t either.

There are two different types at play:

1) Landing Page Optimisation (LPO)
→ Single page-level improvements.
→  Sales page. Opt-in. Checkout.
→  Headlines, CTAs, layout, readability, proof, clarity.

2) Conversion Rate Optimisation (CRO)
→ System-level improvements.
→ The entire journey.
→ Where people drop off.
→ What they expect coming in.
→ What objections show up.
→ What step creates friction.

Here’s how I like to think about it...
LPO focuses on what someone sees.
CRO focuses on what state they’re in.

Also.. important side note:
People don’t move through funnels in one emotional or cognitive mode.

They’re in different mental states before the click, when they land, when they hit the price, when they reach checkout.

And each state needs something different.
Different framing, different angles, different elements...

That’s why optimisation isn’t just tweaking design.
It’s diagnosis.

It’s like going to a mechanic and figuring out what’s actually causing the weird noise in your car… instead of just turning the music up and pretending you didn’t hear it.

When you don’t get to the root fault/s, you get the classic result:
a beautiful page
that technically looks “optimised”
but still doesn’t move revenue.

Quick rule of thumb:
If one page is underperforming, it’s often LPO.
If the whole journey is underperforming, it’s CRO.

So yeah.

Optimisation isn’t “make it prettier”.
It’s knowing what to change, where and why.
