Part of my role at Dot Property was to manage real estate agent and developer client accounts and identifying up-sell opportunities. 

Solving problems in a quick and efficient manner either for users or clients. I worked closely with the IT team on daily basis identifying issues on the website and testing new updates.

I was also involved with the production and distribution of Thailand Property Magazine (10,000 copies nation wide). I did weekly research and put together ideas for our blog and news. This was combined into a weekly online newsletter which I sent out on weekly basis to over 100,00 people on our data base. 

Big part of my job was to manage all English social media channels and marketing - Facebook with over 100,000 likes, Twitter, Pinterest and Instagram. I was in charge of our marketing calendar for our clients which involved scheduled social media posts and personalized email marketing blasts on daily/weekly basis. 

Other duties included booking travel, various research and projects done for the CEO and MD of the company, general admin, sales and marketing support.

As a volunteer worker for Jungle Aid, previously known as Connect3E, I was responsible for collecting donations in the form of food, money, clothes, toys etc. I was also involved with documenting the trips to the remote villages through photography. On each trip we went to a different village on the border of Burma and Thailand bringing donations such as food, water, clothes, toys, books and also basic medical care provided by a certified nurse.  During my time with the organization I also organized a photo exhibition to raise funds and awareness of the charity.

Luckily, nature always helps me take a step back. 

Both the silence and the stars.

Yesterday, I started an 8-week meditation course. 

Surprisingly, we started off by discussing sensations. 

Like physical sensations. 

The exact opposite of what I thought we would be discussing in an 8-week course about mindfullness-based stress reduction (MBSR). 

But then the teacher made the connection for us.  

"By being more aware of our physical sensations, emotions, and thoughts at every moment, we are giving ourselves the possibility of greater freedom and better choices; we do not have to perpetuate the same patterns that have caused us problems in the past."

And that's when it hit me.

That's why I enrolled in this 8-week course. 

Nobody was forcing me

Nobody was paying for me 

Nobody but ME.

So, remember, if you want to change, it's on YOU.

Here's the thing. 

You could be looking for work. 

Or you could be offering your services. 

Either way, being active on this platform can benefit your professional career and personal life more than you would imagine. 

When I sent that DM in 2017, everything changed. 

I realized I had the ability to FIND and CONTACT a person directly on LinkedIn. 

Not just anyone, either — CEOs of large companies. 

I could actually get their attention. 

In the end, that's the beauty of LinkedIn. 

The ability to 1) attract and 2) communicate with people. 

People with job descriptions and full names. 

People with pictures, not designs. 

And most importantly, people who need your help!

Is that not worth 30 minutes a day?

Wins. Loses. Ups. Downs. That was my week. 
One day, I'm sealing a big partnership. 
Next, I'm realizing a big mistake. 

That's how it works.

Sometimes things fall into place perfectly. 

Other times, you have your tail between your legs. 

But I never forget an important conversation. 

Both the good ones and the bad ones. 

They either build or break trust. 

The most important thing in any business relationship. 

So, keep looking for partners you can build with. 

And trust that patience will reward you. 

With partners who add marbles to your jar!

If your company has a decent following, your profile already has an advantage over others on LinkedIn. 
I experienced it myself 4 years ago. 

When I wrote my first post on LinkedIn, I was employed by one of the largest companies in my industry at that time (ref work experience for name).

But 6 months before that, I noticed something. 

People were looking at my profile and sending me connection requests before I ever started writing. 

I figured it was for 2 reasons: 

1) I represented a large company in a management role 

2) I was active on LinkedIn (Likes, Comments, DMs) 

On top of that, the industry was just getting started in Europe, and there was a lot of curiosity around what was going on. 

Then, I started to post. 

At the time, I had 3k connections
• Followers weren't a thing yet

A year later, I had 10k followers 
• mix of followers & connections

Then I left and started building on my own. 

And it became harder. 

I no longer had a big company drawing attention. 

I had to create the attention all by myself.

Today, I have nearly 15k followers. 

And that last 5k? 

Well, it's taken me another 3 years. 

If you work in an executive, small-business owner, or founder role, there is no reason not to build a personal brand. 

In fact, you're missing out on an opportunity. 

An opportunity to build at a faster pace. 

There's no value you can put on it.

For the past 6 years, I've focused on a regulated market. 
It has been both rewarding and challenging.
But one question still remains: 

Will the regulators ever catch up? 

For context, my entire career has revolved around sales. 

And in sales, you have control over many aspects.

• What you sell
• How you sell it 
• Who you sell it to

But for the past 6 years, I've only controlled the WHAT. 

The HOW and WHO have been more complicated. 

The HOW, the most complicated of all. 

Why? 

Because it involves regulators. 

Regulators with undefined timelines. 

What does that mean? 

You can have the WHAT and WHO sorted out. 

But the HOW becomes a question mark (?) 

Specifically, the timing. 

In sales, this is both unique and frustrating. 

That said, I've continued to find ways to make it work. 

But I wonder, will the regulators ever catch up? 

Idk...
