Glenn said something on my podcast that made me rethink virtual meetings.

Someone asked: "What's the 'don't sit in a lobby' rule for Zoom calls?"

You can take a W2 role for 18 months, then go back to fractional work when the timing is right.

Your skills don't disappear. Your network doesn't vanish.

Flexibility is a superpower, not a character flaw.

The strongest fractional executives aren't the ones who never take W2 roles.

They're the ones who make intentional choices about when to be independent and when to be employed.

When you show up for a client meeting, don't announce yourself and then pull out your phone. Don't scroll through texts or zone out.

Stand. Stay ready.

When they walk in, you're already present.

His second rule: Always have something in your hand and something in your mind.

Give them something. Ask them something.

I've closed deals because I showed up intentional. I've lost them because I didn't.

Come up with 10 ideas. Pursue them the next week. Repeat.

It's the most basic move, but it works.
