In 2017 I branched out … I co-founded a telehealth website where we helped people overcome excess drinking through medication-assisted treatment and personal development coaching.

What’s the link to lawyering?

As a lawyer, I defend against injury cases that require a deep understanding of medicine and psychology. 

I’ve deposed over 300 doctors and mental health providers, diving into medical and psychological concepts at their level.

I transferred that skill set, along with years of solving problems for clients, into the wellness and personal growth space.

I applied my analytical skills, the same I use to dissect real-world, complex legal cases, to pick apart the science behind personal development.

I crafted not just medical solutions (through the doctors we contracted with) but also systemized, actionable, personal growth training for our patients.

And we didn’t just aim to restore patients to an average level of health...

We transformed their lives through growth-focused skills ⚡

You can fit in everywhere and still feel wrong inside.

Because fitting in and belonging are two very different things.

Fitting in is external.

- It’s learning the rules.
- Matching the tone.
- Adjusting yourself to be accepted.

Belonging is internal.

+ It’s alignment.
+ It’s ease.
+ It’s not having to edit who you are to stay.

Here’s how to tell the difference ↓

→ Fitting in feels performative
→ Belonging feels natural

→ Fitting in requires constant effort
→ Belonging creates steadiness

→ Fitting in asks you to mute parts of yourself
→ Belonging welcomes your full voice

If you leave rooms feeling drained, cautious, or smaller than you arrived,
pay attention.

That discomfort is feedback.

Not every place you fit is a place you should stay.
The right environment doesn’t just include you.
It supports who you are becoming.

Most people don’t fail because of lack of skill.

They stall because of how they think.

Two people can face the same situation:
And walk away with completely different futures.

The difference isn’t intelligence.

It’s mindset.

A fixed mindset sounds like this:

- “Things used to be better.”
- “I don’t want to fall behind.”
- “People with money are the problem.”
- “Why is this always happening to me?”
- “I’m not good at learning this.”
- “It’s safer not to invest.”
- “Change is risky.”

It protects comfort.

But it caps growth.

A growth mindset sounds like this:

- “What can I do with what I have now?”
- “What did this teach me?”
- “If they can win, so can others.”
- “Complaining won’t move this forward.”
- “I can learn what I don’t know yet.”
- “Some habits need to go.”
- “Action creates clarity.”

It doesn’t avoid discomfort.

It uses it.

Mindset isn’t positive thinking.

It’s the stories you repeat until they become decisions.

And decisions compound.

You can earn more money.

Once it’s spent - it’s gone.

So spend it like it matters:
→ On people who uplift you
→ On work that energizes you
→ On goals that actually excite you

Don’t waste it proving your worth.
Or chasing things you don’t even want.

Time doesn’t pause.
Use it on purpose.

1/ Decide faster
Perfection is an illusion.
A good decision today beats a perfect one next month.

2/ Take smaller steps
Big leaps feel risky.
Break them into tiny, low-risk actions.

3/ Focus on what you can control
Most of what you worry about never happens.
Act where you have power.

4/ Limit the loop
Set a timer for decisions.
When time’s up, commit and move forward.

5/ Trust yourself
You’ve solved problems before.
You’ll solve the next ones too.

Because here’s the truth:
Overthinking won’t give you clarity.
Action will.

In 2016, my college professor offered me his job.
In 2026, I’m using to the fullest the very skills required for that role.

This was back in Canada.
In the 5th university I graduated from.

He was one of the best professors I ever had.
So impactful that, 10 years later,
I still remember some key lessons he taught in class.

He was moving to the U.S., leaving his position and
he offered to recommend me as his replacement.

Can you imagine how incredible it felt
to receive an offer like that?

The university couldn’t hire me
because I wasn’t a permanent resident yet.

So no, I didn’t get to work as a professor
at a top Canadian university.
(That would have been very cool!)

But over the last 10 years after that,
I’ve taught through my corporate roles
and through my own company.

Different title.
Same calling.

And I will never forget how my professor saw that in me.

Because he helped me see 
what I had all along.

And that’s the beauty of how our careers develop.
Sometimes the roles don’t happen,
but your gifts and talents stay WITH YOU.

Here’s 1 lesson I love:

No matter where you go (geographically or metaphorically), 
the destination is NOT a place.

The destination is:
↳ A new perspective.
↳ A new way of seeing the world.
↳ A renewed version of yourself.

I’m not sure if you’ve lived across the world like I have (or even more).

But here’s what I know for sure:

Every place you go, in life and in your career, 
gives you the chance to grow and gain all of the above.
 
If, and only if, you stay open to learning.
If you’re intentional about using every experience 
to shape your mind and heart,
so you become a renewed, 
even more beautiful version of yourself.

The 1 thing you’ll notice in truly great leaders.

Very early in my career, I got to work with a leader
who quickly earned my respect and admiration.

It was obvious to me (and to others who worked with him)
that he truly was a great leader.

But I was curious to understand what made him so great.

After being intentional about discovering his “magic”
beyond what was obvious, I realized what it was.

And the simplest way I can explain it to you
is this:

He was → a connector.

He had this ability to:

↳ Connect people with other people,
so they could work together effectively.
↳ Connect strategy with practical actions,
so teams could clearly see how to contribute.
↳ Connect the work with the “why” behind it,
so people could do their work with purpose.

Applying what I learned from his has served me well in my career.

Decades later, I still can’t thank him enough 
for inspiring me to become a connector as well.


Great leaders connect.

They connect people, purpose, and possibility,
so impact becomes inevitable.

“I’ll figure it out as I go” sounds confident.
And honestly, for a while, it works.


Until one day, it doesn’t.

You’re busy.
You’re doing a lot.

But you catch yourself thinking:
“Am I actually moving in the right direction?”

Not because you’re failing.
But because time isn’t giving you the clarity you need.


I saw this clearly in a previous role as a Mentorship Director.

After graduating from a Mentorship Program
my team and I led, one participant said something
that stuck with me:

“I thought I just needed more time to figure things out.
I didn’t realize how much someone else’s perspective
could help me see my path more clearly.”

Her mentor didn’t give her answers.
He helped her pause.
He helped her see sooner.

And that changed how she moved forward.

4 months later,
she was promoted to a more senior role
in a completely different department.

Grateful for the version of herself
that chose to seek mentorship!


Mentors help you see sooner
what time may never show you.

Seek perspective early.

Hard work doesn’t guarantee career growth.
This might sound uncomfortable.


Especially for people who try.
People who give their best.

For years, I’ve seen some of 
the most hard-working professionals feel frustrated.

Because they feel they’re not advancing
as fast as they’d like.

And not as fast as other people around them.

Many of us were raised on beliefs like:
“Work hard.”
“Stay committed.”
“Give your best.”

And those beliefs do help.

They build character.
They build discipline.

But sometimes… they’re not enough to move you forward.

You know what the missing piece is?

Believing you have to walk the journey of growth alone.

Effort alone has limits.
But growth looks different when you’re guided.
When someone helps you see
what you can’t see yet.


Hard work will take you far.

But hard work with great mentorship
will take you farther
where you’re meant to go.
