I come from Serbia, from the Balkans, from what some still call a “third world” or “third country”.

After 25+ years in tourism, hospitality, media, EU projects and agency work, one thing is crystal clear to me:

Professionalism has nothing to do with your passport.

I’ve worked with partners from so-called “developed” countries and from “developing” ones.

Again and again, the most respectful, prepared, reliable people were not always in the “richest” markets.

What I don’t tolerate anymore:

➝ No-shows on scheduled calls (especially more than once)
➝ Last-minute cancellations without a real reason
➝ Zero respect for the time I invest in research and preparation
➝ Talking down to people because they come from “smaller” or “cheaper” markets

Selling faster starts with ICP clarity

If everyone is your customer, nobody is. 

Especially in travel tech.

Most travel tech teams think they have an ICP.

In reality, they have a wish list: 
hotels, OTAs, DMOs, tour operators, and agencies.

That’s not an ICP. That’s a directory.

When your ICP is fuzzy:
➝ Your outreach is generic
➝ Your demos are random
➝ Your sales cycle gets longer, not shorter

Here’s a simple 3-move reset you can do this week.

1️⃣ Pick one segment, not five

Choose one segment where:
➝ You’ve already had the best conversations
➝ You can show a clear win in 30 to 60 days
➝ You understand their world: problems, pressures, politics

Write it down in one line:
We help [type of brand] in [regions] who struggle with [problem].

2️⃣ Define the non-negotiables

For that segment, list 3 to 5 hard filters:
➝ Size or volume (rooms, bookings, visitors)
➝ Tech stack (PMS, CRM, channel manager, OTA mix)
➝ Buying motion (owner led, GM led, revenue led, CMO led)

If a lead doesn’t fit at least 80 percent of your filters, they’re not ICP.

They might still buy, but they shouldn’t shape your roadmap or messaging.

3️⃣ Map 3 real logos to your ICP

Take three real companies that fit your ICP and answer:
➝ What do they care about this quarter
➝ What risk are they trying to reduce
➝ What specific outcome would make them say this was worth it

Now look at your last five LinkedIn posts, emails, or decks.

Are you speaking directly to them, or to everyone in travel?

Comment “ICP” if you want a simple template to 
rewrite your ICP line for your travel tech company.
