A Series B SaaS founder called me in August. €22M ARR.

✅ Lead and grow a high-performing team of 4-6 Ops pros.

Recently I've spoken to some fantastic candidates in the European RevOps market. 

That said, I’m noticing a massive disconnect in the GTM hiring market right now.
Candidates are listing "AI Experience" on their resumes because they’ve implemented a vendor-based AI tool (a forecasting module here, a CRM assistant there). But when my clients ask for Agentic AI experience, they aren’t looking for someone who can just implement a vendor tool necessarily. 

They are looking for architects who can build autonomous revenue loops.

The Distinction That Matters:

- Vendor-Based AI (Predictive/Generative): It’s a "Point Solution." It tells you a deal might slip or drafts an email for you. It requires a human to trigger every action. 

- True Agentic AI: It’s a "System." It identifies a data discrepancy in the CRM, autonomously cross-references it with Gong transcripts and LinkedIn Sales Navigator, updates the record, and notifies the AE with a suggested next step all while your team is asleep.

Why RevOps is the Natural Home for Agents

In 2026, RevOps has shifted from "owning tools" to "governing behaviour." Because RevOps teams already think in flows, edge cases, and cross-functional dependencies, they are the only ones equipped to orchestrate a "team" of agents.

True Agentic RevOps looks like:
- Autonomous Pipeline Hygiene: Agents that don't just "flag" dirty data, but actively research and fix it using Model Context Protocol (MCP) to bridge silos.
Intelligent Lead Routing 2.0: Moving beyond "Round Robin" to agents that weigh rep workload, historical win rates for specific personas, and real-time intent signals.

- Dynamic Territory Management: Systems that rebalance territories in real-time based on market shifts, rather than waiting for a quarterly review.

The Shift for Candidates:

If you want to be a top 1% RevOps leader today, stop focusing on how many AI vendors you’ve signed. Start focusing on how you’ve built agentic infrastructure.

Don’t Get Me Wrong: It’s Still Early Days I know the reality on the ground. Your company might not have the appetite, the budget, or the "risk confidence" to explore Agentic AI right this second. That is okay. You aren't "behind" if your current roadmap is focused on the basics.

But here is my advice: Don't wait for your company to hand you a project. If you can, upskill now. Build small projects outside of work. Explore orchestration layers like n8n, LangChain, or MCP. Experiment with how an agent might "talk" to your tech stack.

Why This Matters for the Future of RevOps

I’m predicting that Agentic AI will take RevOps to a level of influence we haven't seen before. It transforms the function from "the people who fix the CRM" 👀 to "the architects of the autonomous revenue engine."

When your organisation eventually is ready to take the leap, they will be entirely dependent on the RevOps leaders who actually understand how to build the logic, the guardrails, and the governance.

When budgets get cut, RevOps is usually first on the list.

That's exactly backwards. Back pre-2023 maybe, but not anymore.

Here's what RevOps protects when growth slows:

> Forecast accuracy - you can't manage a downturn with a leaky pipeline. Clean data means better decisions, faster.

> Rep efficiency - if your reps are spending 30% of their time on admin, you don't need more reps. You need better systems.

> Retention - most RevOps teams own or support CS handoffs. Customer expansion is cheaper than new logo acquisition. Always, but especially now.

> GTM alignment - misalignment between sales, marketing, and CS is invisible in a bull market. In a downturn, it shows up as missed targets and finger-pointing.

> Cost visibility - RevOps gives you a clear view of what your GTM motion actually costs to run. 

That's essential when every Pound, Euro Dollar counts.

Companies that cut RevOps in a downturn don't cut costs. They cut their ability to see what's happening.

He digs into why a general AI with skills (like Claude) is outperforming a domain specific AI (like Harvey) for his use case.

I encourage you to read this, whether you are in legal, or finance, hr, operations, sales, marketing, r&d.....

The point is not about legal - its about documenting your way of doing things (skills), and allowing the model to get to work,

without another vendor having hobbled it with their own templates and processes to meet the needs of all their customers.

There will be a need for intermediaries, but for tech savvy executives - learning how to use the models directly is going to give you a greater outcome.
