Mid-funnel stalls are painful. And late-funnel stalls are not only painful, they are also depressing.

Here are 3 ways from The JOLT Effect book in which high performers de-risk deals and avoid mid-funnel and late-funnel stalls:

1. Setting expectations - using realistic, believable expectations instead of maximum ROI scenarios goes a long way. The JOLT Effect research shows that 20% win rate becomes 51% when expectations are set well.

2. Offering downside risk protection - 3 month out clause, other creative options showing skin in the game, or just lessening of risk matter. Win rate goes from 22% to 46% when such de-risking options are offered.

Detailed project plans with best-practices, offering professional services etc. are other options.

3. Starting smaller - sometimes even smaller than what the customer has asked for. Offer one all-in, one moderate, one toe-dipping option really help the prospect feel in control.

Your goal at the end of the day is always to make the prospect more confident.

A confident prospect today is a customer tomorrow!
