Convinced Leadership and the Board to double the proportion of (HSIS and EAF) funds invested in demand and community engagement between Gavi 4.0 and Gavi 5.0/5.1 (to a total of 352M); created a dedicated team to intensify support for Demand, Communities and Gender programming; mobilized Alliance partners to co-design and support new strategies for Demand, Gender, Civil Society and Community Engagement; secured Leadership and Board approval and partner buy-in for the new CSO and Community Engagement and Approach; recruited a dynamic team of demand, CSO and gender experts supporting Gavi 5.0 and global COVID-19 vaccine rollout; building vaccine confidence and tackling vaccine hesitancy, especially in the most vulnerable communities. Led unified UN communications, providing advice and strategic support to joint UN donor relations, coordination, risk and crisis management, results based reporting and management.

Led the team supporting the scale up of community engagement and social mobilisation for polio eradication in more than 8 countries and three regions; acted as overall Global Polio Lead for 6 months; remotely supported recruitment and onboarding of around a hundred new communication for development staff and consultants globally; represented UNICEF and presented progress reports to the Polio Independent Monitoring Board and WHO SAGE and other high level meetings on community demand and engagement ; managed the programmatic relationship with the Gates Foundation for the polio grant; supervised the development of a social data monitoring system for polio; ensured the availability of tools and guidance for country teams; advocated tirelessly for the importance of community ownership and the need to engage communities meaningfully - not least given the risk this still represents to eradicating polio.

As Executive Team Member responsible for the newly integrated Strategic Communications Team, stepped up the level of communication, media engagement, marketing, fundraising, IT and knowledge management functions of RECOFTC, the Centre for People and Forests. Based in Bangkok but establishing its 5 country programmes I led a highly successful rebranding exercise, supervised development of new website and social media channels, overhauled Knowledge Management and IT systems and set up systems for professional fundraising. The overall creative approach, which brought real forest voices to the fore, combined with the momentum from the First Regional Forum for People and Forests, doubled the amount of funding raised over the previous strategic period, strengthening Recoft’s position for the future.

It was a real delight to explore neurodiversity and inclusion in mentoring together. There are no “flash tricks” or ‘one size fits all’ tools. Inclusive mentoring is fundamentally about curiosity, relationship, and co-creating what works for the person in front of you.

And of course, inclusion isn’t about lowering expectations. It’s about making expectations clearer, fairer, and more human, so that people can contribute fully and thrive.

👩‍🔬: "I was very curious to learn more about mentoring and neurodiversity, as I believe this is a crucial conversation to have. Let me share some of my key takeaways:

1. Going into the lecture, I expected concrete advice or specific “tools” or “tricks.” Instead, the most valuable takeaway was the reminder that there are no universal solutions, because every person is different and unique. Really valued the honesty and depth of yesterday’s conversation with the International Coaching Federation Persons with Disabilities Member Resource Group.

What struck me most was not only the focus on visible and invisible disabilities - but the richness of the group itself. Racially, culturally, geographically diverse. Different lived experiences, different lenses, yet a shared commitment to inclusion and belonging. 

That diversity is central, not incidental.

When public narratives around conditions like Tourette’s are swirling in the media, often without nuance or understanding, spaces like this matter even more. Disability does not exist in isolation from race, culture, gender, or context. And inclusion cannot be selective.

As coaches, our responsibility isn’t just to notice what’s visible, but to hold space for what is unseen, misunderstood, or over-simplified.

Am so grateful for conversations where complexity, dignity, and humanity are centred.

Our newly appointed Ethics Director of ICF Switzerland, Natacha Andenmatten, guided participants through an interactive workshop designed to pause, reconnect, and refocus on what truly matters in our coaching practice — anchored in the ICF Values and Code of Ethics.

Together, we explored how ethics can serve as a compass in turbulent times, helping coaches stay grounded and aligned with what genuinely matters — for themselves and for their clients.

Today we had an online session with the ICF DEIB Practitioners community, exploring Safe Spaces & Brave Conversations through an experiential introduction to the LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® method.

What made this session truly meaningful was not the slides, not the theory, and not even the models themselves — but the willingness of participants to slow down, reflect, and quite literally think with their hands.

In just 90 minutes, we journeyed from a handful of bricks to layered conversations around psychological safety, inclusion, belonging, and voice.
Through building, sharing, and reflecting, it became visible how the same model can hold different meanings, and how structure can gently create equal voice in a group.

One insight stood out very clearly once again:
safe space does not emerge by chance.
It is intentionally designed — and very often, it begins with skills building.
Those early, simple exercises where everyone builds, everyone shares, and everyone is heard are not just warm-ups.
They are the invisible architecture of psychological safety.
This is a principle I deeply appreciate in the methodology tradition of the Association of Master Trainers, where "skills building" is seen as the foundation of meaningful dialogue and not just an introduction.

Although I use LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® both in individual coaching and team coaching, sessions like this remind me how powerful the method can be in DEIB contexts, where making invisible experiences visible is essential for brave and inclusive conversations.

What we experienced today was, in many ways, just the very tip of the tip of the iceberg of the methodology. And yet, even that small glimpse was enough to spark deep reflection, empathy, and awareness in the room.
