A bit about me: I am a communication designer turned visual thinking expert. 

As much as I love everything visual, pretty design images or even illustrations aren't the most important. 

The prettiest design doesn't help if your messaging – or your product – is missing the mark.

But it is almost impossible to see how to connect the dots for your business especially if you have many ideas! 

That's where I come in with my pencil. 

I use strategic sketching and a powerful story-driven framework. 

• In a Business Storyboarding session, I ask you questions and sketch while we talk. You'll SEE your client's problems and feelings. A client of mine said: "It is as if you could walk around in their life!"

Offshore accountants want a 40% pay raise…should they get it?

Teams in India are saying that U.S. Firms should spread the wealth. They feel they're being taken advantage of. 

According to a recent article from Finance Story:

“A lot of employees come to us every year saying, ‘I’ve done my market research and I’m underpaid.’”

“They’re demanding 30–40% salary hikes and promotions every single year.”

Private Equity is the gently giant terrorizing Accounting


They can't beat up accounting firms like they do with hospitality and healthcare.

PE investors know what will happen.

Is the obsession with Rules killing the appeal of accounting?😲 

An interview from Chicago Booth Review claims the sentiment around accounting is: 

“becoming significantly more negative as the rules become more restrictive”. 

“that might be deterring students from entering the profession.”

I could see that.

As CPAs retire, I think their clients are in for a rude awakening on pricing.

“Non-Professional” status is a New Low for Accounting’s image problem ⚾ 

Accounting is All-Pro. But the department of edu says it isn't a "Professional Degree". 

That distinction limits student loan amounts.

But it's more about the signal it sends.

Fortune reported “accounting organizations have expressed concerns that the decision could weaken public perception of accounting”.

Yep.

When it comes to embodying the change you want to see, Drew Carrick nails it. 

I had the pleasure to introduce Drew to my team and it was one for the record books. 

We talked about his involvement on the web series “PBC” and the importance of creativity in accounting. 

Most importantly, we talked about the need to rebrand the profession. 

Then Drew spit some bars to close the meeting.

For us #millennials, Google will always be king of the [internet] court.

This past fall I had the chance to be the special guest for one Google's Controllership speaker series, bringing together the CPAs who handle revenue accounting for Google Search and YouTube (the 2nd largest search engine, owned by the largest 😉).

It's really cool what they're doing to find ways engage these professionals with their careers, their work, and the profession by doing something different and exciting.

It was an honor to perform live to this group and to be part of the Google family, as well as join the #accounting star-studded lineup of previous guests. Well done Grace Zilli, CPA and Mike Manalac, CPA - thanks for having me!

Accounting AI agents can’t fully deliver on Trust🛡️ 


A recent article highlights the human advantage in accounting.

“There is also the element of trust, responsibility and ethical consideration we expect from accounting professionals, which AI cannot fully deliver.”

I agree. 

AI cannot fully deliver trust. But then again people Trust their calculator, why not their AI agent. 

Will Trust always be a human advantage over AI?
