People overcomplicate SEO too much.

Sure, it's not easy to rank on Google but...

It's not rocket science either as some want you to believe.

All you need is:

- Good on-page optimization
- Quality and consistent backlinks
- Quality content (even if you get help from AI)
- Decent keyword strategy

That's it.

99.9% of SEO agencies can't do SEO.

Here's why:

What most SEO agencies (even some of the big ones) are good at, is sales.

They lure you in with promises, give you a bunch of vanity metrics and lock you in a 6-12 months contract.

Which is a shame because garbage agencies like those ruin the industry for the rest of us who can actually do SEO.

7/10 businesses I talk to have had a bad experience in the past with an ''SEO agency.''

Maybe it's actually time to learn the skill you sell?

Is SEO working for you?

If not, here's probably why:

1. You're not building good backlinks
2. You're not optimizing ALL your pages (yes, all of them)
3. Your pages are missing search intent
4. Your keywords are not organized in proper funnels and clusters
5. Your content looks and sounds like AI slop
6. You have major technical issues

If you have one or more of the issues above, that's likely the reason why your SEO isn't working as expected.

''Just wait'' is terrible SEO advice.

Here's why:

You'll often see online that in SEO you need to ''wait.''

And while that can be true sometimes, if your strategy isn't working, waiting ain't gonna fix it in most cases. 

When something isn't going as planned, you fix it by making adjustments consistently:

- Fixing your content
- Optimizing pages
- Getting more backlinks
- Etc.

You don't just sit on your a** hoping the Google gods will notice your site and rank it ''organically.''

That's wishful thinking and it's a terrible SEO practice.

Ranking #1 on Google is useless.

Unless you do it right:

See, ranking first in search doesn't always mean more traffic or sales.

There are millions of keywords, some with lots of traffic and conversion potential.

Some others with none. 

On top of that, keywords have different intents.

Some are purely informational (bad for conversions.)

Some others have high buying intent.

Moral of the story is: Don't get baited by the ''rank #1'' fallacy. 

It can easily be a vanity metric in context.

Does negative SEO exist?

Yes, but in VERY rare cases:

If you've noticed traffic drops lately and you're thinking about negative SEO from competitors, don't be so sure.

Negative SEO is extremely rare for a few reasons:

1. It's only common in sketchy and competitive niches (gambling)
2. Most competitors can't be bothered to waste time and money to affect your site negatively
3. Doing negative SEO properly is hard as most of it gets ignored by Google
4. By doing negative SEO, your competitors risk legal actions if they get caught

So in short, there's a 99% chance your competitors aren NOT doing negative SEO to your site.
