I lead a team of 9 ServiceNow CMDB professionals. We are building and maintaining the CMDB for the FirstRand Group using the ServiceNow platform. The Group's technologies are diverse and the CMDB covers various technology stacks across service, application, server, database, network, personal computing, and other CIs.

I architect solutions and we collectively design the various components and feeds. I like to be hands-on and also implement parts of the solution.

The CMDB underpins a number of use cases, such as Impact Analysis, Change workflows, Event Management, Operational Hygiene, and Financial Management.

I led a multi-disciplinary team of 8; together we implemented end-to-end solutions that improved IT Service Management across RMB. The solutions  enabled RMB IT to improve service, increase transparency, reduce risk and save money. Efficient business processes, sustainability and user experience were always top of mind in everything we did.

Managed a team of 40+ support engineers, analysts, and DBAs. Platforms supported included Calypso, Intellimatch, Oracle Database, Oracle EBS, Control-M, TIBCO ESB & BW, Informatica, Jira, Confluence, and various in-house systems.

I completed this assignment successfully:
- Operational management of the team during the transition period
- Recruit the permanent Head: Application Operations
- Restructure the team and processes with the incoming head

Interim Head: Application Operations

Managed a team of 23 support engineers and analysts. Platforms supported included Calypso, Control-M, TIBCO EBS & BW, Informatica, Jira, Confluence, and various in-house systems.

Main achievements:
- Standardised release processes for Calypso, TIBCO BW and Informatica.
- Relieved developers from day-to-day support for much of Calypso and in-house applications.
- Proposed, procured, and implemented Control-M for RMB. 
- Negotiated Control-M license fee from R10m to R3m by optimizing the environment and license model. (savings upfront and pro-active)

Production Manager: Trading Systems and Middleware

I led a team 6 that designed and implemented a new ITSM system and CMDB using Axios assyst.

Managed a team of 15 that provided technical support and integration development services to a number of trading desks; these included the Fixed Income, Equities, Forex, Forex Derivatives and Commodities (hard and soft) asset classes. Technologies used were vendor systems like Murex MX.3, Front Arena Atlas, Reuters Deal Tracker, Sungard Infinity as well as in-house systems.

Apart from managerial duties, I also acted as Subject Matter Expert for the design and development of system feeds across all trading desks.

Main achievements:
- Infrastructure implementation for Murex across 3 data centers (from architecture to operations)
- Netcool implementated for Murex
- Murex EOD moved to Control-M
- Basel 2 feeds implemented across IRD, FXD, Commodity, and EQD asset classes.
- Money market risk feeds stabilised.

Hands-on team leader of 6 providing full end-to-end service to Traders and Middle Office. This included all development, application support and business support on in-house systems and vendor systems like Sungard Infinity, Front Arena Atlas, and Kronos.
